Undercarriage and Technical Data
Mobility
The undercarriage offers outstanding mobility and manoeuvrability, allowing for curves at any possible radii and slewing on the spot. It features a hydraulic load distribution system with hydraulic suspension that avoids overloading individual wheel sets. Standard trailer tyres are used for economical spare parts availability, and individually steerable wheel sets increase tyre lifetime. The system provides optimum pressure distribution and adaptation of wheel sets on uneven surfaces.
Modular Propping System
A cruciform support base minimizes stress and strain on the undercarriage by directing the load path from the boom tip to the quay. The modular system allows for reduced quay loads by installing additional axle sets and offers easy adaptation to various sizes of support pads and bases.

Practical Solutions
Liebherr develops and produces special designs and solutions to meet customer-specific requirements.
Liebherr Portal Crane (LPS 280)
An efficient combination of a space-saving portal (mounted on rails) and the proven mobile harbour crane concept. Portal solutions permit railway trains and road trucks to travel below the portal, particularly on narrow quays.
Liebherr Fixed Slewing Cranes (LFS 280)
An efficient combination of a mobile harbour crane upper carriage and a fixed pedestal. LFS cranes provide an economical and space-saving solution for installation on quaysides and jetties, especially where manoeuvring space is limited and low ground pressure is essential. They are also suited for installation on crane barges.
Liebherr Portal Mobile Crane (LPM 280)
A combination of a space-saving portal undercarriage, efficient mobile harbour crane technology, and unrestricted mobility. A gantry on rubber tyres enables travel between quays. Supporting pads allow use on quays with or without rail tracks. The LPM offers 360-degree mobility, with longitudinal, diagonal, or transverse driving directions, and conventional steering or slewing on the spot.
Liebherr Mobile Harbour Crane (LHM 280)
The standard for mobile harbour crane technology, offering high performance and flexibility.
