- HEAT: Only the heating system operates.
- EMER: Operates a backup heat source (Emergency Heat) for heat pump systems only.
Setting the FAN Control Mode
The Fan Control has 3 modes: AUTO, ON, and CIRC. Select modes by pressing the FAN button.
NOTE: Some fan modes may not be available depending on thermostat configuration.
- AUTO: System fan runs only when heating or cooling system is running.
- ON: System fan stays on continuously.
- CIRC: System fan runs intermittently to circulate air and provide even temperature distribution when the heating or cooling system is not active.
Setting the Temperature
Temporary Adjustment

A reset button erases all user settings and programming but does not affect Installer Settings. Use a small object (e.g., toothpick) to gently press the button labeled "RESET" inside the small hole on the thermostat housing. You cannot reset if the thermostat is locked.
Additional Operation Features
Auto Changeover Mode
This feature is enabled/disabled in Installer Settings. If enabled, select it by pressing SYSTEM until "AUTO HEAT" or "AUTO COOL" appears. The system automatically switches between heating and cooling based on programmed set points and a "dead band" setting to prevent conflicts. The default dead band is 3° F.
Adaptive Recovery Mode (ARM™)
This feature, enabled/disabled in Installer Settings, automatically adjusts the start time based on room temperature.
- ARM ON: Reaches temperature BY the scheduled time (e.g., turns on early to reach 70° by 7:00 AM).
- ARM OFF: Starts to change temperature AT the scheduled time (e.g., starts heating at 7:00 AM).
Setting the thermostat to Hold, Emergency Heat, or manually adjusting the temperature will interrupt ARM.
Compressor Protection
This feature is present in cooling/heating modes and includes an automatic delay after turning off the system compressor to prevent damage from short cycling.
Locking and Unlocking the Thermostat
Your 3-digit Lock Code is set in "User Options". To lock or unlock:
- Press and hold DAY/TIME and HOLD buttons together for 5 seconds. The screen displays "000".
- Press SpeedBar (⬆️/⬇️) to enter the first digit of your lock code, then press RETURN.
- Repeat for the second and third digits.
- After the third digit, press RETURN.
If a valid code is entered, the thermostat will lock or unlock (depending on its previous state). The display will show "LOCK". If an invalid code is entered, "NO" will briefly appear.
Thermostat Maintenance
Thermostat Cleaning
Never spray liquid directly on the thermostat. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the outer body. Do not use abrasive cleansers.
Changing the Batteries
This thermostat requires two (2) "AA" alkaline batteries for clock and power if 24-volt AC power is not connected.
If batteries become low, a battery indicator (?) will appear. Change batteries immediately:
- Gently pull the thermostat body from its base.
- Remove old batteries and insert new ones, ensuring correct (+) and (-) orientation.
- Gently push the thermostat body back onto the base.
NOTE: Replace batteries annually or if the thermostat will be unattended for an extended period.
