Bluetooth Connectivity & App Usage

1. Download the App: Scan the QR code or search for the Philips grooming app in your app store (App Store or Google Play) and download it.
2. Enable Bluetooth: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
3. Pair the Shaver: Follow the in-app instructions to pair your shaver. This typically involves pressing a button on the shaver to make it discoverable.
4. Connected: Once paired, your shaver will connect to the app, allowing you to access features like usage tracking and personalized tips.

Getting Started: Charging the Shaver

1. Connect Charger: Place the shaver on the charging stand and connect the power adapter to the stand and a power outlet.
2. Charging Indicator: The shaver will indicate it is charging. A full charge typically takes about 1 hour.
3. Quick Charge: A 5-minute charge may provide enough power for one shave.

Shaving Instructions

1. Preparation: Ensure the shaver is clean and charged. For best results, shave dry or with shaving foam/gel.
2. Shaving Technique: Hold the shaver against your skin and move it gently in circular motions or upward strokes. Avoid pressing too hard.
3. Using Attachments:
   • Beard Styler: Attach the beard styler comb to the shaver head for trimming. Adjust the length setting as needed.
   • Pop-up Trimmer: Slide the pop-up trimmer up to trim sideburns or other facial hair.
   • Nose Trimmer: Attach the nose trimmer and gently insert it into the nostril to trim nose hair. Do not insert more than 5 mm.
   • Detail Trimmer: Attach the detail trimmer for precise shaping of beards, mustaches, or sideburns.
4. Skin Comfort: The shaver is designed with a skin comfort system to protect your skin.

Cleaning the Shaver

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and hygiene.

1. Rinsing: Detach the shaving heads. Rinse the shaving heads and the shaver body under running water.
2. Cleaning Station: For a deeper clean, place the shaver in the cleaning station. The station uses a cleaning fluid to clean the shaving heads. Follow the station's instructions for use.
3. Drying: After rinsing, shake off excess water from the shaving heads and allow them to air dry. Do not use a towel to dry the shaving heads as this can damage them.

Maintenance: Replacing Shaving Heads

It is recommended to replace the shaving heads every 1-2 years or when performance degrades.

1. Unlock Shaver: If the shaver is locked, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to unlock it.
2. Remove Shaving Heads: Open the shaving head unit and remove the old shaving heads.
3. Insert New Heads: Insert the new Philips SH71 (or compatible) shaving heads, ensuring they click into place.
4. Lock Shaver: Lock the shaver by pressing and holding the power button for 3 seconds.

Cleaning Station Cartridge Replacement

Replace the cleaning cartridge in the cleaning station approximately every 3 months or as indicated.

1. Remove Old Cartridge: Open the cleaning station and remove the used cleaning cartridge.
2. Insert New Cartridge: Insert a new Philips cleaning cartridge (e.g., CC12, CC13, CC16) into the station.
3. Close Station: Close the cleaning station lid securely.

Lock/Unlock Function

The shaver features a travel lock to prevent accidental activation.

1. Locking: Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to lock the shaver. An indicator will show it is locked.
2. Unlocking: Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to unlock the shaver.
