Kamvas Slate 13
Thank you for choosing the HUION Kamvas Slate 13. The Kamvas Slate 13 is a 12.7-inch Android tablet with a full HD touch screen and a capacitive pen. The device supports finger touch and pen touch, Wi-Fi networks, and Bluetooth connections, making the Kamvas Slate 13 ideal for note-taking, drawing, design, office work, and entertainment. The product comes with pre-installed Google Mobile Services (GMS) such as Google Maps, YouTube, and the Play Store. You can also download more applications from the Play Store. To better understand and use this product, please read the user manual carefully. Note: Design and specifications are subject to change without notice. 1. Product Overview

1.1. Active Capacitive Pen
Pen Features

2. User Manual
2.1. Operating Temperature
Do not place this product in an environment where the temperature is too high or too low, as it may cause the device's electrical circuit to malfunction. Please use it within the optimal operating temperature range of 0°C to 40°C.
This product is not waterproof. Do not expose the device to a humid environment or use it in the rain. Please keep it away from corrosive liquids and do not use strong chemicals or strong cleaning agents to clean the device.
2.2. Charging the Tablet
It is recommended to charge the tablet before first use. Please use the power adapter and USB cable ? for charging as shown. You can also use a USB cable to connect the tablet to a computer for charging, but the charging speed will be significantly slower.

3.2. How to Use the Pen
Exiting Travel Lock Mode
Charge the HS230 pen using a 5V adapter (output current ≥ 200mA via USB-C cable ?. The indicator light will remain lit. Continue charging for 3 seconds to exit travel lock mode and enter normal operation mode.

Pen Nib Replacement
When the digital pen nib is severely worn, please replace it with a new nib immediately.
4.2. Palm Rejection Feature
- Protection: The artist glove is included in the product packaging. You can wear it to prevent accidental screen touches effectively during creative tasks.
- Software Settings (Example with HiPaint app): On the canvas interface, click the Settings icon ⚙️ > Pen Settings > Gestures, then enable the palm rejection feature.
3.3. Home Screen Overview
The tablet's home screen interface features a clear, user-friendly design that allows for smooth navigation and efficient workflow.
Google Search Bar
Quick search for internet, local files, and installed applications. Supports voice input. Tap the microphone icon ? or say 'Hey Google' to activate. Supports Smart Lens. Tap the lens icon to perform image translation, search, or homework search.
Home Screen Icons
Display application icons, shortcuts, and widgets. Long-press on an empty space on the home screen to bring up the Wallpaper/Home Screen Settings option. Tap Wallpaper and Style to change the wallpaper. You can choose a pre-loaded wallpaper or use an image from your album. Tap Tools to find the tool you need, then long-press and drag the icon to add it to the home screen. Tap Home Screen Settings ⚙️ to enable/disable adding icons to the home screen, which applies to newly installed apps from the Play Store. You can also enable/disable notification dots and set swipe gestures for the home screen.
Bottom Area
Stores and displays frequently used applications for quick access. Supports adding, deleting, or uninstalling applications.
- Add Applications: Long-press an app icon on the home screen and drag it to the bottom area.
- Delete/Uninstall Applications: Long-press an app icon in the bottom area and drag it to the delete/uninstall area at the top of the screen.
4. Powering Off and Restarting
Press and hold the power button ? to power off or restart the tablet. Press and hold the power button for two seconds, then tap 'Power off' ⚫ or 'Restart' ? in the displayed window to power off or restart the tablet.
Using the Control Center
Open the Control Center to power off or restart the tablet. Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Control Center and Notifications center, swipe down again to open the Control Center, and tap the 'Power off' ⚫ button at the bottom to display the power off window.
Force Power Off
Press and hold the power button ? for 7 seconds to force power off.
5. System Navigation
5.1. Navigation Mode
Gesture Navigation: To go to the Home screen ?, swipe up from the bottom of the screen. To switch between apps, swipe up from the bottom of the screen, hold, and then release. To go back ◀️, swipe from the right or left edge of the screen.
3-Button Navigation: You can go back ◀️, go to the Home screen ?, and switch between apps using the buttons at the bottom of the screen.

2.5. Changing System Navigation Method
Tap the 'Settings' ⚙️ icon on the home screen or in the app list, tap System > Gestures > Navigation mode in Settings, and change to Gesture navigation or 3-button navigation on the system navigation mode selection interface.
When switching to gesture navigation, the three navigation buttons at the bottom of the screen will disappear and their functions will be replaced by gestures (you can watch the tutorial when selecting the gesture navigation option).
6. Split Screen
6.1. Enabling Split Screen
Using Gesture Navigation: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and long-press, then release to display all recent applications ?.
Using 3-Button Navigation: Tap the recent applications button ? to display all recent applications.
Select the first app you want, tap the app icon at the top, and choose Split Screen in the pop-up window.
Tap the second app from the app list, and the screen will split vertically or horizontally.
Tap another app to use split screen mode.
Drag the middle screen divider to resize each app and double-tap the divider to swap the app positions.
2.6. Exiting Split Screen
Long-press the screen divider and drag it to the edge of the screen until one of the windows disappears. You can also close one of the apps directly by tapping the back button ◀️ at the bottom or swiping it to either the left or right edge of the screen.
7. Language Settings
Select the desired system language when turning on the device for the first time. You can also tap the Settings ⚙️ icon on the home screen to change the language settings.
Tap Settings > System > Languages > Languages to enter the language settings interface.
Tap Add language ➕ and select the language you want. It will be added to the bottom of the language list. Then touch and drag the language to the top of the list. The device will then automatically display the language you selected.
8. Wi-Fi Connection
From the home screen, tap Settings > Network & Internet > Internet to view available Wi-Fi networks ?.
Once Wi-Fi is turned on, the tablet will automatically search for available Wi-Fi networks. Select a Wi-Fi network and enter the Wi-Fi password to complete the connection.
You can swipe down to open the Control Center and tap the 'Internet' ? button to enter the network settings interface and complete the Wi-Fi connection.
9. Google Account Login
From the home screen, tap Settings > Passwords & accounts > Add account ➕ > Google.
On the Google login interface, enter your Google account and password. If you don't have a Google account yet, you can tap 'Create account' on the login interface and follow the instructions to create a Google account and log in.
10. Screen Lock/Unlock
Automatic Lock
By default, the tablet will automatically lock the screen and enter sleep mode if no operation is performed for one minute. Tap the 'Settings' ⚙️ icon on the home screen or in the app list, go to Settings > Screen > Screen lock timeout to set the automatic sleep mode waiting time.
Manual Lock
You can press the power button ? to lock the screen and activate sleep mode.
Wake Screen
You can press the power button ? to wake the screen.
Set Screen Lock
Tap the 'Settings' ⚙️ icon on the home screen or in the app list, go to Settings > Security & privacy > Set screen lock to set the screen lock method.
11. File Transfer
11.1. Wired File Transfer
- Connect the tablet to the computer using a USB-C cable ?.
- Swipe down the status bar and tap the USB notification to enter USB preferences.
3. Go to USB usage purpose > File transfer ?.
4. The Kamvas Slate 13 device icon will appear in the 'Devices and drives' section on your computer.
5. Double-click the Kamvas Slate 13 device icon to open the tablet, then double-click the internal storage folder to copy and paste files to the computer. You can also send files from the computer to the Kamvas Slate 13.
2.11. Bluetooth File Transfer
- Turn on Bluetooth ? on the tablet and computer (example shown for a Windows computer).
- Click the Bluetooth icon on the Windows computer and select 'Receive a file' to enter the connection waiting screen.
- Select the files you want to transfer on the tablet, tap the Share icon ?, and choose 'Bluetooth' to share the files.
- Select the connected computer from the Bluetooth list to start transferring files.
12. System Update
When a new version of the tablet's system software is available, you will receive an update reminder. You can see the update reminder in the notification center and tap the reminder message to quickly go to the update interface. You can also access the settings interface by tapping the 'Settings' ⚙️ icon on the home screen or in the app list, then tap System > System update to manually check and update the system.
13. HiPaint Program
1.13. Customizing the Pen Side Button
The functions of the pen's side buttons can be customized in the HiPaint application. The pen's side buttons may not work in other programs, and their functions cannot be customized. Open the HiPaint app, and open or create a new file.

Pen Side Button Functions
You can set 3 groups of 8 functions, including delete layer, delete layer, new layer, copy, merge layers, lock transparent pixels, and undo. You can switch quickly between brush and eraser. Open the color palette. Go back to the previous state of the canvas. It also supports undoing in multiple steps. Reverse undo, which restores valid actions after many undo steps. No function for the buttons. After selecting the radial menu, press the side button of the digital pen and click on one of the function items in the radial menu to perform the desired action.
2.13. Tilt Feature Settings
The tilt feature is only available in applications that support it. Here is an example of how to set up the tilt feature using HiPaint. Enter any file under the HiPaint app and select any brush.

14. Troubleshooting
Q1: Cannot turn on the tablet.
- Restart the tablet.
- Press the power button ? to check if the tablet is in sleep mode.
- Press and hold the power button ? for 7-8 seconds to restart the device.
Q2: Cannot charge the tablet.
- Ensure the USB cable ? is correctly connected to the charging port.
- Try using another USB cable ? with a compatible power adapter.
Q3: An error message appears during operation.
- Uninstall the application causing the error message, then download and reinstall it.
- Press and hold the power button ? for 7-8 seconds to restart the device.
Q4: Tablet cannot be detected by the computer.
- Ensure the tablet is turned on.
- Try using another USB cable ?.
Try using another USB port on the computer. Check if the USB connection mode between the tablet and the computer is set to 'Charging only'. If so, change it to 'Media transfer protocol (MTP)' or 'Camera (PTP)' mode.
Q5: Tablet cannot connect to the wireless network.
- Ensure Wi-Fi ? is turned on on the tablet.
- Ensure you have entered the correct password when connecting to the Wi-Fi ? network.
- Restart your router.
- Check the maximum connection limit in your router's settings to see if it is preventing other devices from connecting.
- Select 'Forget this Wi-Fi network', then reset your router and reconnect to the Wi-Fi ? network.
Q6: Not enough storage space on the tablet.
- Uninstall applications that are not frequently used.
- Regularly clear the application cache.
- Install a Micro SD card to increase storage space.
Q7: The screen is unresponsive.
- Check for dust or oil on the screen. If found, clean it with a cloth.
Q8: Pen button does not work.
The side buttons of the pen only work in Huion Note and HiPaint applications; other programs do not support pen button functions. Additionally, the side button functions can only be customized in the HiPaint app.
