Warranty Information

Kwikset products are backed by a comprehensive warranty program. This product comes with a lifetime mechanical and finish warranty to the original residential user, as long as the original user occupies the residential premises upon which the product was originally installed. A one-year electronic warranty is also included.

Warranty Exclusions: This warranty does not cover scratches; abrasions; deterioration due to the use of paints, solvents or other chemicals; abuse; misuse; or product(s) used in commercial applications.

Question: Can a smart key lever (outside) be combined with a round or oval knob inside?

Answer: No, this lock model (400AO-15-SMT) cannot be modified to have a knob to lever on the door. All knobs or levers must be installed as a knob to knob or a lever to lever.

Question: How do I turn over cylinder on a 400ao?

Answer: A cylinder removal tool, part number 81467-003, may be requested through Kwikset consumer service at 1-800-327-5625.

Question: What is the ANSI/BHMA Grade for the entry lock?

Answer: The ANSI/BHMA grade is Grade 3 Certified (all functions except 488).
