Assembly Steps
Step 1: Prepare and Identify Parts
Lay out all parts as shown in the diagrams. Ensure you have all components before starting assembly.
Diagram 1 shows the main components: SkiErg body (1a), Top Bracket (1b), Universal Bracket (1c), and Upper Arms (1d).
Step 2: Attach Upper Arms to SkiErg Body
With the flywheel and PM5 facing up, attach the two upper arms (1d) to the front side of the SkiErg body (1a) using four fasteners. The upper arms are labeled 'L' for left and 'R' for right on the inside.
Diagram 2 illustrates attaching the upper arms to the front of the SkiErg body. The PM5 monitor is visible.
Step 3: Attach Top Bracket and Handle Cords
Attach the top bracket (1b) to the tops of the upper arms (1d) using four fasteners (2 fasteners per side).
The white handle cords should be crossed once as shown in photo 3a. Remove the shipping insert from the white handle cords to release them.
Diagram 3 shows attaching the top bracket. Photo 3a specifically highlights the crossing of the white handle cords and the removal of a shipping insert.
Step 4: Stand SkiErg Up and Attach Upper Arms to Back
Carefully stand the SkiErg upright.
Attach the upper arms (1d) to the back side of the SkiErg body using four fasteners.
Diagram 4 shows the SkiErg standing upright, with arrows indicating where to attach the upper arms to the back of the body.
Step 5: Mount SkiErg to Wall or Floor Stand
Mount the SkiErg to a wall or to the optional floor stand using the two remaining fasteners.
5a. Wall mounted
5b. With optional floor stand
Diagram 5 shows two mounting options: 5a for wall mounting and 5b for mounting with the optional floor stand.
Wall Mounting Instructions
These instructions detail mounting the SkiErg to a wall. Ensure you have the correct tools and hardware.
For Walls with 16" Wooden Stud Spacing:
Hardware is included for attaching the SkiErg to a wall with 16" wooden stud spacing. For other wall types (metal, concrete), consult a building professional.
Safety Note: Ensure you are drilling into solid material and that the SkiErg is firmly attached to the wall. Insufficient attachment may lead to injury.
Tools Required for Wall Mounting:
- 1/2" (13 mm) wrench
- Drill with 1/4" bit (6 mm)
- (2) 1/4"-20 fasteners
- (4) 5/16" lag screws
- (4) 5/16" washers
- (2) black spacers
Step 1: Prepare for Wall Mounting
Lay the SkiErg on the floor with the flywheel facing up.
Install the universal bracket (1c) on the SkiErg top bracket (1b).
Insert two 1/4"-20 fasteners through the SkiErg top bracket and into the two outer holes of the universal bracket.
Diagram on page 12 shows the SkiErg flywheel facing up, with the universal bracket being attached to the top bracket using two 1/4"-20 fasteners.
Step 2: Mark Wall for Mounting
Hold the SkiErg up against the wall in the desired position.
The two outside holes on the universal bracket should align with the wall studs. Mark each hole location.
Also, mark each hole location where the SkiErg bottom bracket lines up with the wall (left and right side).
Diagram on page 13 illustrates holding the SkiErg against the wall and marking the hole locations for both the top universal bracket and the bottom bracket.
Step 3: Drill Holes and Secure
Starting at the universal bracket marks, drill holes approximately 2 inches (5 cm) deep at each marked location. Ensure you are drilling into solid material.
Assemble a washer on a lag screw and screw into each hole until tight. Ensure the SkiErg is firmly attached.
Diagram on page 14 shows drilling holes into the wall and securing the SkiErg with screws and washers. A safety warning emphasizes drilling into solid material.
Step 4: Add Spacers and Final Tightening
Place a black spacer behind each mounting hole on the SkiErg bottom bracket.
Assemble a washer on a lag screw and screw into each mounting hole until tight.
Diagram on page 15 shows placing black spacers behind the bottom bracket holes and securing with screws and washers.
Mounting on Walls with Non-Standard Stud Spacing
If your wall has stud spacing other than 16" (40 cm), you may need to attach a wooden mounting plate first. This plate should be 1.5" thick and suitable for receiving lag screws.
Follow the instructions for determining stud locations, marking, drilling, and attaching the wooden plate. Then, mount the SkiErg to the plate using the provided hardware, following steps similar to those above.
Diagrams on pages 15, 16, 17, and 18 provide detailed instructions for mounting on walls with non-standard stud spacing, including the use of a wooden mounting plate.
Optional Floor Stand Mounting
The optional floor stand allows the SkiErg to be used on any level surface. Some assembly of the stand itself may be required.
Follow the general assembly steps, using the floor stand as the mounting base instead of a wall.
Diagram 5b on page 6 shows the SkiErg mounted on the optional floor stand.
General Safety & Final Checks
Always ensure the SkiErg is securely and firmly attached to a solid wall or stand.
If you are unsure about wall construction or stud spacing, consult a building professional.
Improper mounting can lead to detachment and potential injury.
Review all steps to ensure correct assembly and installation.
