Concept2 SkiErg Assembly Instructions
Getting Started
This procedure will be easier with a helper. Lay out all parts as shown.
Parts Identification
- 1a. SkiErg Body: Includes flywheel and Performance Monitor PM5, with handle cords attached to the top bracket.
- 1b. Top Bracket: The main bracket for the upper arms.
- 1c. Universal Bracket: One bracket for wall or floor stand mounting.
- 1d. Upper Arms: Two upper arms.
Assembly Steps (General)
Step 1: Attach Upper Arms
Lay the SkiErg body on the floor with the flywheel and PM5 facing upwards. Attach the two upper arms (1d) to the front side of the SkiErg body using four fasteners. Note: The upper arms are labeled 'L' for left and 'R' for right on the inside.
Step 2: Attach Top Bracket
Attach the top bracket (1b) to the tops of the upper arms (1d) using four fasteners (two per side). The white handle cords should be crossed once as shown in the diagram. Remove the shipping insert on the white handle cords to release them.
Mounting Options
Option A: Wall Mounting
Tools Needed for Wall Mounting:
- 1/2" (13 mm) wrench
- Drill with 1/4" bit (6 mm)
- (2) 1/4"-20 fasteners
- (4) 5/16" lag screws
- (4) 5/16" washers
- (2) black spacers
Wall Mounting Procedure (Standard 16" Stud Spacing):
Ensure the SkiErg is securely fastened to a solid wall. The SkiErg comes with pre-drilled holes for standard 16" on-center stud wall construction.
Step 1: Attach Universal Bracket to Wall Studs
Hold the SkiErg up against the wall. Align the two outside holes on the universal bracket (1c) with the wall studs. Mark the location of these holes on the wall. Also, mark the locations for the SkiErg bottom bracket where it will align with the wall (left and right sides).
Step 2: Drill Holes and Secure Bracket
Drill 1/4" diameter holes, 2" deep, at each marked location. Assemble a washer onto a lag screw and screw into each hole until tight. Ensure you are drilling into solid material and the SkiErg is firmly attached. Insufficient attachment may lead to injury.
Step 3: Attach SkiErg to Wall Studs
Place a black spacer (6) behind each mounting hole on the SkiErg bottom bracket. Assemble a washer (5) on a lag screw (4) and screw into each mounting hole until tight.
Note on Non-Standard Stud Spacing: If your wall studs are not spaced at 16 inches, or if you are unsure, consult a building professional. Special mounting plates may be required.
Option B: Free-Standing Setup
The SkiErg can be used with an optional floor stand. The floor stand allows for use on any level surface and includes built-in caster wheels. Some assembly of the floor stand itself is required.
Dimensions for Free-Standing Use: 61 cm x 132 cm x 215.9 cm (24 in x 52 in x 85 in).
Floor Stand Weight: 18 kg (35 lb).
