IKEA Baby Cot and Cot Bed: Important Information
Please read these warnings and assembly instructions carefully and keep them for future reference.
Product Information
This baby cot can be converted into a cot bed suitable for children from approximately 15 months of age up to a maximum weight of 20 kg.
The minimum recommended mattress size for this cot/cot bed is 120 cm x 60 cm, with a thickness not exceeding 12 cm. Please refer to the marking on the cot.
Warnings
- Do not use the cot if any part is broken, torn, or missing. Contact your local IKEA store for replacement parts. Do not substitute parts.
- Do not leave any items in the cot or place the cot close to another product that could provide a foothold or present a danger of suffocation or strangulation, e.g., strings, blind/curtain cords, etc.
- Do not use more than one mattress in the cot.
- Be aware of the risk of open fire and other sources of strong heat, such as electric bar fires, gas fires, etc., in the near vicinity of the cot.
- Do not attach any items to the cot, for example hooks or handles. These can present a strangulation hazard, which may result in harm to your baby.
Important Safety Information
- Tighten all assembly fittings properly before use. Check all fittings regularly and retighten as necessary.
- The lowest position of the bed base is the safest. To prevent falls, the mattress base should be adjusted to the lowest position as soon as the baby is old enough to sit up.
- The mattress thickness shall be such that the height from the upper surface of the mattress to the upper edge of the cot frame is at least 500 mm in the lowest position of the cot base and at least 200 mm in the highest position of the cot base.
- To prevent injury from falls when the child is able to climb out of the cot, the cot shall no longer be used for that child.
- Never use plastic shipping bags or other plastic film as mattress covers because they can cause suffocation.
Important Wall Clearance
Children can become trapped between the bed and the wall. To avoid risk of serious injury, the distance between the bed and the wall must always be less than 65 mm or more than 230 mm.
Cot Bed Conversion
- When the child is able to climb out of the cot, convert the cot to a cot bed following the assembly instructions provided.
- Tighten all assembly fittings properly before use. Check all fittings regularly and retighten as necessary.
- Do not use the cot bed if any part is broken, torn, or missing. Contact your local IKEA store for replacement parts. Do not substitute parts.
- Do not place the cot bed near a window where cords from blinds or drapes may strangle a child.
Care and Maintenance
Wipe clean with a cloth damped in a mild cleaner. Wipe dry with a soft, clean cloth.
