If you are a Windows user, please find the appropriate keycaps in the box and follow instructions to replace them.
Mac / Windows Keyboard Layout
The keyboard features a standard layout adaptable for both Mac and Windows. Key rows include:
- Top Row: Esc, Function keys (F1-F12) with multimedia controls (e.g., volume, playback), brightness controls, and system keys (e.g., Home, End, Page Up/Down, Insert, Delete).
- Number Row: Numbers 1-0 with corresponding symbols. Includes `半角/全角` (IME toggle) for Japanese layouts.
- QWERTY Row: Q, W, E, R, T, Y, U, I, O, P, and bracket keys.
- ASDF Row: A, S, D, F, G, H, J, K, L, and semicolon/colon keys.
- ZXCV Row: Z, X, C, V, B, N, M, and comma/period keys. Includes `英数` (Alphabet) and `かな` (Kana) for Japanese layouts.

Setup and Connectivity
1. Bluetooth Connection
To connect via Bluetooth:
- Switch the toggle on the keyboard to the Bluetooth position.
- Press and hold the Fn + 1 keys for 4 seconds to activate pairing mode. The Bluetooth indicator will blink.
- On your device, search for the Bluetooth device named Keychron K8 and pair with it.
2. Cable Connection
To connect via USB cable:
- Switch the toggle on the keyboard to the Cable position.
- Connect the included Type-C cable to the keyboard and your computer.
Key Features and Operations
Function and Multimedia Keys (F1-F12)
You can switch between standard function keys and multimedia keys:
- For Windows: Press and hold Fn + X + L for 4 seconds to switch modes.
- For Mac: Go to System Settings > Keyboard and enable the function keys.
- Specific Function Keys (F5 & F6): For enhanced functionality, press and hold Fn + K + C for 4 seconds.
Disable Auto Sleep Mode
The keyboard enters Auto Sleep Mode after 10 minutes of inactivity to conserve battery. To disable this feature:

- To re-enable Auto Sleep Mode, press and hold Fn + S + O for 4 seconds again.

Function Description: Charging
Connect the keyboard using the USB Type-C cable. The Charging Indicator will:
- Blink Red when the battery is below 15%.
- Stay Static Red while charging.
- Turn Static Green when fully charged (approximately 3 hours).
The Keychron K8 is compatible with all USB ports. For optimal performance, use a 5V 2A adapter or USB 3.0. The keyboard can be charged in Bluetooth/on/off mode. This product supports up to 5V charging voltage and 2A charging current. Improper charging may cause issues, for which Keychron is not responsible.
Troubleshooting
Keyboard Not Working
- For the keyboard: Turn the keyboard off and then back on.
- For the device (Windows): Turn Bluetooth off, restart your computer, then turn Bluetooth back on.
- For the device: Go to Bluetooth settings, turn off Bluetooth, and 'forget' the keyboard. Restart the device and reconnect via Bluetooth.
Bluetooth Connection Interrupted
Ensure the keyboard is not placed on or near metal surfaces that could interfere with the Bluetooth signal.
Third-Party Input Tools Incompatibility
Functions may be affected by compatibility, versions, brands, and drivers of Windows/Android OS. Ensure your operating system and drivers are up to date.

Pairing Issues
