- In commercial facilities, adhere to the accident prevention regulations for electrical installations and equipment.
Function of the Motion Detector
The integrated sensor detects heat radiation from moving bodies (e.g., people or animals) and transmits this as an electrical impulse to a connected light, causing it to switch on. Detection may be limited by large furniture, glass panes, or high ambient temperatures (above 40°C).
Installation Instructions (Fig. 5)
Danger: Ensure the power circuit is interrupted before installation. Installation involves working with mains voltage. Remove the relevant fuse or switch off the circuit breaker. Use a voltage tester to confirm the line is de-energized. The circuit must not be closed during installation, as this poses a risk to life.
Danger: Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with all applicable electrical and installation regulations.
Caution: Before drilling mounting holes, ensure there are no gas, electricity, or water pipes at the drilling location that could be damaged.
- Observe all safety instructions and technical data before mounting this product.
- Installation Note:
- L: Live wire (black or brown)
- N: Neutral conductor (blue or grey)
- This device is designed for ceiling mounting only.
- Maintain a minimum distance of 2 meters when installing multiple motion detectors.
- For optimal range, select the mounting height recommended in the 'Technical Data'.
- For parallel connection of 2 units, refer to Fig. 4a.
- For permanent switching of a connected device using an additional parallel switch, refer to Fig. 4b.
The following environments or surfaces are unsuitable for mounting as they may impair heat radiation detection (see Fig. 2):
- Metal surfaces (e.g., metal door frames).
- Immediate vicinity of electronic devices (e.g., computers, monitors).
- Heat sources (e.g., radiant heaters, radiators, lamps).
- Proximity to exhaust systems or fans.
- Within the radiation range of luminaires (minimum distance from luminaires > 50 cm).
Detection Area (Fig. 3)
The detection range is approximately 20 meters with a 360° coverage at a mounting height of 2.2-6 meters on the ceiling in open areas. In enclosed spaces, the detection range may be reduced depending on the room layout.
Connection of Protective Conductor (PE)
When connecting a lamp with a protective conductor contact and not using a junction box, the protective conductor must be bridged from the supply line to the lamp using an additional terminal within the motion detector housing.
Sensitivity Adjustment (Ambient Brightness)
This adjustment control regulates the switch-on sensitivity based on ambient brightness, adjustable from 3 to 2,000 LUX.
Time Setting (Switch-off Delay)
The operating time can be set continuously from approximately 10 seconds to 30 minutes. The timer restarts if the sensor detects movement before the set time elapses.
Function Test
Ensure the motion detector is not obstructed and that the detection area is not limited by objects like large furniture. To set the detection range and perform a daylight function test, turn the controls to the indicated positions. The motion detector activates after a warm-up phase of approximately 30 seconds. If no further movement is detected, the sensor will switch off.

Information for Private Households (WEEE)
The Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (WEEE) sets out requirements for handling electrical and electronic equipment. Key points include:
- Separate Collection of Waste Equipment: Old, worn-out, or defective electrical and electronic equipment is considered waste equipment and must not be disposed of with household or residual waste. It should be returned to designated collection and return systems.
- Batteries, Rechargeable Batteries, and Light Sources: Owners of waste equipment must separate batteries, rechargeable batteries (not integrated), and light sources from the equipment before handing it over to a collection point. This does not apply if the equipment is prepared for reuse by a public waste management authority. Batteries containing hazardous substances are marked with a crossed-out dustbin symbol and must not be disposed of in household waste. Improper disposal of battery substances can harm health and the environment. Separate collection and proper disposal prevent these hazards.
- Options for Returning Old Appliances: Owners of waste equipment from private households can return it free of charge to collection points of public waste management authorities or to return points established by manufacturers or distributors.
- Data Privacy Notice: Old devices may contain sensitive personal data. Users are responsible for deleting data from devices before disposal.
- Meaning of the 'Crossed-out Dustbin' Symbol: This symbol indicates that the electrical or electronic device must be collected separately from unsorted municipal waste at the end of its service life.
Cleaning
Danger: Before cleaning, disconnect the power supply by switching off the circuit breaker or removing the fuse. Use a slightly damp cloth for cleaning. Avoid getting water inside the housing to prevent damage. Never clean the device under running water. Do not use solvent-based cleaning agents.
