This diagram shows the main components of the water pump:
Use unleaded automotive gasoline.
Ensure the following before starting:
The engine controls are located at the engine end of the pump frame.
This diagram illustrates the operating controls:
CAUTION: Engine oil is critical for performance and service life. Non-detergent and 2-stroke oils are not recommended. Check the oil level with the engine on a level surface and stopped.
Use Honda 4-stroke oil or an equivalent high detergent, premium quality motor oil certified to meet or exceed U.S. automobile manufacturer's requirements (Service Classification SG, SF). SAE 10W/30 is recommended for general use. Other viscosity grades may be used based on ambient temperature.
This chart shows recommended motor oil viscosity grades based on ambient temperature. It includes single-grade oils (5W, 10W, 20W, #20, #30, #40) and multi-grade oils (10W-30, 10W-40). The temperature scale ranges from -20°C to 40°C (-4°F to 104°F).
To check the oil level:
This diagram shows the oil filler cap/dipstick being removed to check the oil level against the "UPPER LIMIT" mark.
WARNING: Review all warnings to prevent fire hazards. Do not refill while the engine is running or hot. Close fuel shutoff valve before refueling. Keep fuel away from open flames and smoking materials. Wipe off spilled fuel. Avoid prolonged contact with skin or breathing of vapor. Keep out of reach of children.
Remove the fuel tank cap. If the fuel level is low, refill with unleaded automotive gasoline.
WARNING: Keep the area clear of flammables or other hazardous materials.
Check the following before starting the engine:
The oil alert sensor stops the engine if the oil level falls below a predetermined level. If the engine stops automatically, check and refill the oil to the upper level. If the engine does not start, check the oil level.
Perform an initial oil change after the first twenty (20) hours of use. Thereafter, change oil every 200 hours or as directed on the oil packaging.
This diagram shows the location of the drain plug and the oil filler cap.
Engine oil capacity: 1.1 liters (1.16 U.S. Quart)
This diagram shows the oil filler cap/dipstick being inserted to check the oil level against the "UPPER LIMIT" mark.
