Achieve Efficient Workflows

Building upon YOKOGAWA's traditional oscilloscope models, the new DLM3000 series offers higher quality, greater flexibility, and enhanced ease of use, meeting the demands of modern mechatronics design. It integrates the latest touch screen operation, solid-state storage, and high-speed signal processing to deliver clean signals, comprehensive analysis, and convenient operation, significantly boosting work efficiency.

  • Quality: YOKOGAWA is committed to measurement quality. The DLM3000 features low residual noise, multiple voltage ranges, and various real-time low-pass filters to ensure signal authenticity.
  • Flexibility: Flexible channel combinations, optional deep memory, the "Power Analysis" option, and serial bus functions (including mainstream automotive buses) allow users to configure the oscilloscope according to various needs.
  • Ease of Use: The combination of a touch screen and traditional buttons allows for seamless switching. Optional communication and storage features provide easy access to large datasets.

Compact Structure, Intuitive Operation

Easy-to-See Vertical Design

The DLM3000's large display is positioned at the top of the instrument's panel. This vertical design aligns the display with the user's line of sight and saves desk or test bench space. The intuitive panel layout provides a clear overview of channel and function status, enabling swift measurements.

Convenient 8.4-inch Display

The display can automatically or manually trace waveforms, maintaining optimal resolution and dynamic range. This allows for easy viewing of all signal details, regardless of the number of channels used. The DLM3000 is described as a "compact dedicated oscilloscope" that is easy to view and operate.

Capacitive Touch Screen for Intuitive Operation

The touch-enabled user interface offers intuitive operation. Users can quickly set up cursors, zoom boxes, and waveform display areas using familiar drag-and-drop and pinch-to-zoom gestures. Traditional buttons and keys are also conveniently placed, allowing users to benefit from both control methods.

Front Panel Overview

The DLM3000 oscilloscope features a user-friendly front panel with:

  • 1. 8.4-inch XGA LCD & Capacitive Touch Screen
  • 2. Vertical Position/Range Knob
  • 3. Horizontal Position/Scale Knob
  • 4. Trigger Control Key & Trigger Level Knob
  • 5. Dedicated Zoom Knob
  • 6. Logic Input Connector
  • 7. USB Peripheral Connector
  • 8. Rotary Shuttle
  • 9. Four-way Navigation Key (for cursor movement)

The instrument boasts a compact body, approximately two-thirds the size of an A4 sheet of paper, with a depth of about 200mm.

First-Class Acquisition Memory

The DLM3000 offers large 500M-point memory, crucial for long-duration measurements requiring high sampling rates. The formula for measurement time is: Measurement Time = Memory Size / Sampling Rate. With the 500M-point memory option (/M2), users can capture 200ms of waveform data even at a 2.5GS/s sampling rate in 2-channel "Single" mode.

Sampling Rate vs. Measurement Time

Sampling RateLongest Measurement Time
2.5GS/s0.2s
250MS/s2s
25MS/s20s
2.5MS/s200s
250kS/s2000s
100kS/s5000s

Ample memory is essential for utilizing higher sampling rates and capturing accurate waveforms. The DLM3000 allows real-time zooming into 500M-point waveforms up to 200,000,000x magnification.

Zoom and Search Functions

Utilize two independent zoom windows and various search functions to quickly locate critical data. The "Simultaneous Zoom of Two Positions" feature allows for side-by-side display of two events, aiding in causal relationship analysis. The "Auto Scroll" function enables automatic scanning of the main waveform, with options for forward, backward, fast-forward, and scroll speed control.

The "Zoom Search Function" allows users to automatically find and zoom into specific waveform conditions using multiple search criteria, facilitating in-depth inspection. Found waveform positions are marked on the screen.

Inherited History Function

The DLM3000 series can store up to 100,000 previously captured waveforms in its acquisition memory. The "History" function allows users to display one or all of these historical waveforms on screen. Users can perform cursor measurements, calculations, and other operations on historical waveforms, making it ideal for capturing and analyzing intermittent or elusive signals.

History Search Function: Search up to 100,000 waveforms based on various criteria.

Playback Function: Automatically play, pause, fast-forward, and rewind through the waveform history.

Multiple Trigger and Filter Options

The DLM3000 series offers a wide array of trigger types, including edge, enhanced, and B triggers, suitable for combined analog and digital signals. Its digital trigger system minimizes false triggers. Available trigger types include Edge, Edge OR, Pulse Width, Timeout, Pattern, Runt, Rise/Fall Time, Interval, Window, Window OR, A Delay B, and A to B(n), with serial bus triggers available as an option.

Real-time Filters: The instrument features 14 low-pass filters per channel, with cutoff frequencies ranging from 8kHz to 200MHz, applied before data is stored in memory.

Computed Digital Filters: Low-pass or high-pass filters can be applied using the MATH function, allowing for comparison with input waveforms.

Features Designed for Productivity

  • Measurement and Statistics: Supports 29 waveform parameters with up to 30 simultaneous auto-measurements. Statistical analysis can be performed per cycle or using the history function.
  • Waveform Snapshot: Save the current waveform display with a single button press for easy comparison. Snapshot data can be saved and loaded as files.
  • Trend and Histogram Display: Graphically visualize waveform parameters like period, pulse width, and amplitude to observe cycle-to-cycle variations.
  • Cursor Measurements: Place cursors on waveforms to measure various parameters like ΔT, ΔV, ΔT&ΔV, Marker, and Angle.
  • FFT Analysis: Perform up to two FFT analyses simultaneously on actual or computed waveforms.
  • GO/NO-GO Function: Automatically judges pass/fail conditions based on trigger, waveform, or measurement parameters. Actions like buzzer alerts, file saving, or email notifications can be triggered. Abnormal waveforms are saved for later analysis.
  • Graphical Online Help: Access detailed graphical explanations for instrument functions directly on the device.

Specific Application Analysis Options

The DLM3000 offers specialized analysis options for various applications:

  • Serial Bus Analysis Options (/F01 ~ /F05): Supports UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, CAN FD, LIN, FlexRay, SENT, and CXPI. These options are crucial for automotive and other industries, enabling physical layer verification and serial bus data decoding alongside waveform display. The "Unique Auto Setup" feature simplifies complex serial bus analysis settings, while the ability to analyze up to 4 buses simultaneously enhances usability.
  • User-Defined Math Option (/G02): Create custom analysis formulas using a wide range of mathematical and logical operators.
  • Power Analysis Option (/G03): Facilitates analysis of switching losses, I²t, SOA, and power harmonics, crucial for power electronics applications.
  • Analog/Logic Simultaneous Measurement: The DLM3000 can function as a Mixed Signal Oscilloscope (MSO) by converting its 4th analog channel into an 8-bit logic analyzer, supporting up to 11 total inputs (3 analog + 8 logic). This is ideal for analyzing digital control circuits and serial buses.
