Safety Precautions and Warnings
General Cautions
To reduce the risk of electrical shocks, fire, etc.:
- Do not remove screws, covers, or cabinet.
- Do not expose this appliance to rain or moisture.
POWER Switch
This apparatus is provided with a POWER switch to minimize power consumption for safe use.
- When doing initial setting, complete all connections, connect the mains plug, and set the POWER switch to ON.
- When not in use, set the POWER switch to OFF.
- Disconnect the mains plug to shut off power completely. The POWER switch in any position does not disconnect the mains line.
Proper Ventilation
To avoid risk of electric shock and fire, and to prevent damage, locate the apparatus as follows:
- Front: No obstructions and open spacing.
- Sides/Top/Back: No obstructions should be placed in the areas shown by the dimensions.
- Bottom: Place on a level surface. Maintain adequate air path for ventilation by placing on a stand with a height of 10 cm or more.
General Precautions
- Do not block ventilation openings or holes. (Blocked openings can prevent heat dissipation.)
- Do not place naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, on the apparatus.
- When discarding batteries, consider environmental problems and follow local rules or laws for disposal.
- Do not use this apparatus in bathrooms or places with water. Do not place containers filled with water or liquids (cosmetics, medicines, flower vases, potted plants, cups, etc.) on top of this apparatus.
Installation Precautions
- To prevent deformation or discoloration, avoid direct sunlight, high humidity, and proximity to air conditioning outlets.
- Speaker vibrations may cause howling. Place the unit as far as possible from the player.
- Consider earthquakes or physical shocks and secure the unit thoroughly.
- This unit is magnetically shielded to prevent color distortion on color TV sets. However, depending on installation, distortions may occur.
- When placing near a TV, turn off the TV's main power switch or unplug it before installing. Wait at least 30 minutes after installation before turning on the TV.
- Other speaker systems near the TV may cause color unevenness.
- If color unevenness occurs despite shielding, move the speakers a short distance from the TV.
- Affixing the feet to the cabinet base is recommended for stability. The surface may discolor slightly with prolonged contact with the feet.
