Outdoor Unit Minimum Clearances
The following clearances are recommended for optimal performance and serviceability of the outdoor unit:
- Space to the wall (rear): at least 6 inches.
- Space to obstruction (sides): at least 6 inches.
- Space to obstruction (top): at least 12 inches.
- Space to obstruction (front): at least 24 inches.
Note: If the bottom of the unit is free of airflow obstructions similar to the mounting bracket figure, the clearance to the wall on the back can be reduced to 3 inches.
