What You'll Need in Advance
Information from your scan tool's "System Settings" is required to begin. This includes device details like serial number, PIN code, and activation code.
After selecting "Get connected!" on your scan tool, the corresponding page will display the necessary device information and hyperlinks for registration.
Registration Process Overview
For a comprehensive overview and links, visit snapon.com/gateway.
The process involves:
- Navigating to AutoAuth.com. This site is used to register users and service centers to OEM databases, such as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) for 2018+ models.
- Clicking the "Register Now" button.
- Creating a unique username and password, and linking an email address to establish an individual user account.
- Checking your email for confirmation and to verify the account.
Account Setup and Linking
- After validating your account, follow the on-screen instructions.
- Upon logging in, you will find a link to register yourself or your Service Center.
This step allows you to register your workshop name and input your individual account credentials. AutoAuth charges a $50 annual fee for its authentication services. Complete the required fields and click "Sign Up".
- Select "Manage Tools" and enter the required fields: Manufacturer, Model, and Serial Number.
Your account and workshop must be established first to link your diagnostic equipment to the AutoAuth website.
- To finalize this action, click the "Add" button. Your AutoAuth account is now complete.
Snap-on Profile Manager Setup
A Snap-on Profile Manager account is required to complete the process.
- If you already have a Profile Manager account (e.g., from SureTrack or ALTUSDrive), log in and proceed to Step 3.
- To create a new account, go to profilemanager.mitchell1.com.
- Once your account is created, log back in and navigate to the "Device Management" tab.
- Enter your scan tool's PIN code, serial number, and authorization number.
Adding Secure Credentials
- Next, select the "Secure Vehicle Gateway" tab and then choose "Add Secure Credentials".
- Add the credentials you created at AutoAuth or webapp.autoauth.com to access FCA vehicles.
With these steps completed, you will be able to unlock Secure Vehicle Gateways. The system will indicate when the gateway is unlocked, making all diagnostic requests available.
