Eco One User Manual
Generating Electrolyzed Water for Cleaning & Sanitation
The Eco One device generates hypochlorous acid (HOCl) with an Oxidation-Reduction Potential (ORP) between +800 and +1000 when using Setting 3.
Device Components: The device features a 1. Lid, 2. Power On/Off button, 3. Setting 3 indicator, 4. Setting 2 indicator, 5. Setting 1 indicator, 6. Power Connection port, 7. A one-gram spoon, and 8. A power supply unit.
Instructions for HOCl Generation:
- Add tap water (or purified water) up to the 1 Liter mark indicated on the container.
- Add 2 grams of kosher salt (use food-grade NaCl, preferably pure and natural without iodine).
- Add 1 teaspoon of distilled white vinegar (5%). This is optional but recommended to optimize pH, making HOCl the dominant free chlorine molecule.
- Replace the lid and connect the power supply. Ensure the power supply connector is dry.
- Power On the device to generate hypochlorous acid.
Device Settings:
Operation: Press the Power button to turn on the device.
- Setting 1: Press once. The system runs for 3 minutes, generating approximately 40 ppm HOCl when filled to the 1 Liter mark.
- Setting 2: Press twice. The system runs for 5 minutes, generating approximately 60 ppm HOCl when filled to the 1 Liter mark.
- Setting 3: Press three times. The system runs for 8 minutes, generating approximately 100 ppm HOCl when filled to the 1 Liter mark. Running two cycles (16 minutes total) generates approximately 200 ppm.
Generating Electrolyzed Water for Cleaning & Degreasing
The Eco One device also generates potassium hydroxide (KOH) with an ORP between -100 and -300.
Instructions for KOH Generation:
- Add tap water (or purified water) up to the 1 Liter mark.
- Add 2 grams of potassium carbonate (use only the potassium carbonate additive).
- Replace the lid and connect the power supply. Ensure the power supply connector is dry.
- Power On to Setting 3 to generate KOH in 8 minutes.
Measuring Hypochlorous Acid (HOCl) Solutions
Key Information:
- The molecular formula for hypochlorous acid is HOCl.
- HOCl is a free chlorine molecule that can be measured using chlorine test paper.
- HOCl is most dominant in a chlorine solution when the pH is between 4 and 6.
How to Measure Concentration:
Chlorine test paper provides a simple, reliable, and economical method to measure free chlorine concentration in sanitizing solutions. The test paper offers color matches at 10, 50, 100, and 200 parts per million (ppm) and measures concentrations within this range. Visual indicators on the test paper correspond to these ppm levels.
Precautions
- This appliance is not intended for use by individuals (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or those lacking experience or knowledge, unless they receive supervision or instruction.
- Care should be taken when the appliance is used near children.
- To prevent the risk of electrical shock, do not immerse the appliance base or power supply unit in water or any other liquid. Do not clean the appliance in a dishwasher.
- Always turn the appliance off before cleaning it.
- Use only the detachable power unit provided with the appliance. Do not operate the appliance with a damaged cord or plug.
- The appliance is designed to be supplied from a separate extra-low voltage (SELV) power source, minimizing electrical shock risks under normal conditions.
- Store all additives in a clean and dry location.
- Use only normal tap water or purified water.
- If the unit becomes damaged or leaks, immediately disconnect it from the power supply at the wall outlet.
- To clean the unit, rinse it only with tap water.
- Empty the pitcher after each use and rinse it with tap water.
