  • Read and keep these instructions.
  • Heed all warnings and follow all instructions.
  • Do not use this apparatus near water.
  • Clean only with a dry cloth.
  • Do not block ventilation openings. Install according to manufacturer's instructions.
  • Do not install near heat sources (radiators, heat registers, stoves, amplifiers).
  • Do not defeat the safety purpose of polarized or grounding-type plugs.
  • Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched.
  • Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
  • Unplug during lightning storms or when unused for long periods.
  • Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
  • Only plug power supply into an accessible outlet for quick unplugging.
  • Operate only in a well-ventilated area.
  • Recharge battery-operated radios only with the specified charger.
  • Use battery-operated radios only with specifically designated battery packs.
  • Keep battery packs away from metal objects when not in use to prevent short circuits.
  • Store battery packs and chargers in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight or high temperatures.
  • Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces.
  • Do not use adaptor plugs.
  • When operating outdoors, use an outdoor extension cord marked "W-A" or "W".
  • Never disassemble or attempt to rewire the radio.
  • Do not expose the apparatus to dripping, splashing, or place liquid-filled objects on it.

Specific Safety Rules

  • Maintain labels and nameplates. Contact Milwaukee for replacements if unreadable or missing.
  • This radio is designed for standard 120-volt AC line or AC generator power, or a Milwaukee M18™ battery pack. Do not use other voltages or power supplies.

FCC Compliance: This equipment complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. It generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy. If it causes harmful interference to radio or television reception, try to correct it by reorienting the antenna, increasing separation, connecting to a different circuit, or consulting a technician.

Extension Cords

Use two or three-wire extension cords. Use heavier gauge cords for longer distances to prevent voltage drop and power loss. The smaller the gauge number, the greater the cord's capacity (e.g., 14 gauge is better than 16 gauge). When using multiple cords, ensure each meets minimum wire size requirements. For multiple tools on one cord, sum their amperage ratings.

Guidelines for Using Extension Cords

  • Use outdoor-rated cords marked "W-A" or "W" for outdoor use.
  • Ensure cords are properly wired and in good condition. Replace or repair damaged cords.
  • Protect cords from sharp objects, heat, and moisture.
  • Unplug all cords during lightning storms or when unused for long periods.
