Usage Notes
- Always read the user manual of the connected device before use.
- Audio-Technica is not responsible for any data loss in the unlikely event that such losses occur during product use.
- In public transport or other public places, keep the volume low so as not to disturb others.
- Lower your device's volume before connecting the product.
- When using the product in a dry environment, you may feel a tingling sensation in your ears. This is caused by static electricity accumulated in your body, not by product malfunction.
- Do not subject the product to strong impacts.
- Do not store the product in direct sunlight, near heating devices, or in hot, humid, or dusty places. Also, do not get the product wet.
- When using the product for a prolonged period, it may discolor due to ultraviolet light (especially direct sunlight) or wear.
- If the charging case is placed in a bag while the USB charging cable is still connected, the USB charging cable may get caught, damaged, or broken.
- Be sure to hold the plug when connecting and disconnecting the USB charging cable. The USB charging cable may be damaged or an accident may occur if you pull the cable itself instead of the plug.
- When not using the USB charging cable, disconnect it from the charging case.
- When not using the product, store it in the provided charging case.
- If you use eartips other than the included ones, the headphones may not fit in the charging case or may not charge. Be sure to use the included eartips.
- When using the product, select the eartips that best fit your ears and wear the product securely.
- This product can be used for phone calls only when using a mobile phone network. Compatibility with telephony applications using a mobile data network is not guaranteed.
- Using the product near an electronic device or transmitter (such as a mobile phone) may cause unwanted noise. In this case, move the product away from the electronic device or transmitter.
- Using the product near a radio or TV antenna may cause visual or audio noise in the TV or radio. In this case, move the product away from the radio or TV antenna.
- To protect the built-in rechargeable battery, recharge it at least once every six months. Long intervals between charges can reduce the rechargeable battery's lifespan or cause it to lose its ability to hold a charge.
- Charge the product in a well-ventilated place (10 to 35°C), away from direct sunlight. Otherwise, the battery may deteriorate, possibly resulting in shorter periods of continuous use or charging failure.
- If the headphones are wet, wipe them with a dry cloth before placing them in the charging case. The charging case is not water-resistant (drip-proof). Do not charge the product if the headphones are wet.
- The ambient sound function allows you to hear surrounding sounds through the built-in microphone. Depending on the volume of the music being played, surrounding sounds may be difficult to hear. In that case, lower the music volume.
- Depending on your surroundings, ambient sounds may be difficult to hear even when using the product's ambient sound mode. Do not use the product in locations that could become dangerous if you cannot hear surrounding sounds, such as places with heavy traffic.
- Operate the touch sensor with a single finger. Operation with pointed objects like ballpoint pens and pencils may not only cause incorrect operation but could also damage the touch sensor.
- Do not touch the touch sensor with your fingertips. Doing so may break your nail.
- If the product does not operate at all, or does not operate as intended, when touched, ensure no other fingers, parts of your hand, or clothing are in contact when you touch. Also, the product may not operate correctly if you are wearing gloves or if your fingertips are too dry.
- The product may not operate correctly if the touch sensor is soiled with sweat. Remove dirt before operating the product.
About the Active Noise Cancellation Function
The product is designed to use its built-in microphone to pick up ambient noise (vehicle noise, air conditioner noise, etc.) and cancel that noise by producing negative-phase sound. This results in a reduction in the sound of your surroundings.
- The product's noise cancellation function is primarily effective against noise in the lower frequency range, but not all noises are cancelled.
- Depending on the type of noise (or in quiet locations), you may not notice the effect of noise cancellation.
- Depending on how you wear the product, the noise cancellation effect may vary or a beeping sound (whistle) may occur. In such cases, remove the product and re-insert it correctly.
- To maximize the noise cancellation effect, select eartips that offer the best acoustic isolation for each side to block surrounding sound, and insert the headphones into your ears correctly.
- When using the product on a train or in a vehicle, such as a bus or truck, noise may be heard depending on the condition of the tracks or road.
If the Product Does Not Connect to a Device
If pairing cannot be canceled or does not occur correctly, you can use forced pairing mode to perform pairing again.
- About 5 seconds after placing both headphones (L (left) and R (right) sides) in the charging case (with remaining battery), touch and hold (for about 6 seconds) the touch sensors of both headphones.
- When the indicator lights on both headphones illuminate red, remove the headphones from the charging case.
The product will enter "Device Search" (pairing mode) and you can pair it with the desired Bluetooth device.
If the procedure cannot be completed as expected, remove the headphones from the charging case again and repeat the procedure from the beginning.
If the Product Operates Abnormally
Reset the product.
- About 5 seconds after placing both headphones (L (left) and R (right) sides) in the charging case (with remaining battery), tap the touch sensors of both headphones twice in succession.
- Ensure the indicator lights on both headphones flash white, then touch and hold (for at least 6 seconds) the touch sensors of both headphones while they are in the charging case.
Ensure the indicator lights on both headphones illuminate red and then turn white before releasing your fingers. The reset is complete.
- Remove the product from the list of registered devices on your Bluetooth device.
- Remove the headphones from the charging case again and perform pairing.
If the procedure cannot be completed as expected, remove the headphones from the charging case again and repeat the procedure from the beginning.
About Water Resistance (Drip-Proof) Performance
- The water resistance (drip-proof) specification of this product applies only to the headphones, not to the charging case.
- Although the headphones have water resistance (drip-proof) equivalent to IPX4 protection, the sound output part is not water-resistant (drip-proof).
- The water resistance (drip-proof) performance is designed to protect the headphones if they get wet from rain, etc. (equivalent to IPX4 protection). The JIS/IEC IPX4 protection rating means the product is protected against exposure to water splashes from all directions.
- The headphones cannot be used underwater.
- The headphones cannot be used in hot and humid places, such as bathrooms.
- The headphones are not waterproof. Submerging them in water may cause damage.
- The headphones may not function correctly if they get wet. Wipe the headphones with a dry cloth, shake them several times to remove any excess water, and allow the headphones to dry thoroughly before use. For more information, refer to the user manual on the Audio-Technica website.
About the Nano UV Sanitization Function
When the headphones are placed in the charging case and the lid is closed, the headphones are automatically sanitized by a nano UV LED. For more information, refer to the user manual on the Audio-Technica website.
- To prevent the nano UV LED from being directly visible, the nano UV sanitization function is activated only after the charging case lid is closed.
- Sanitization using the nano UV LED will not be performed if the headphones are not placed correctly in the charging case.
- Sanitization of objects other than the headphones is not possible. Do not place any object other than the headphones inside the charging case.
- The indicator light on the charging case will flash purple while sanitization is in progress. Do not open the charging case lid if the indicator light is flashing purple.
- If the product begins to operate abnormally, for example, if the nano UV LED illuminates when the charging case lid is open, stop using the product immediately and contact your local Audio-Technica dealer.
For More Enjoyable Bluetooth Communication
The effective communication range of this product varies depending on obstructions and radio wave conditions.
For a more enjoyable experience, use the product as close as possible to the Bluetooth device. To minimize noise and sound interruptions, avoid positioning your body or other obstacles between the product's antenna and the Bluetooth device.
