Mechanical Specifications
General
The units are designed for horizontal airflow as shipped and can be converted to downflow. They are factory assembled, piped, internally wired, and fully charged with refrigerant. Units are certified to UL Standard 1995 and factory run tested for cooling operation, fan rotation, and control sequence. The units are designed to operate in ambient temperatures between 55°F and 115°F in cooling mode. Cooling performance is rated according to A.H.R.I. standards.
Unit Casing
All components are housed in a weather-resistant steel cabinet with an enamel finish. Access panels are provided for unit controls, indoor coil, and fans. The indoor air section compartment is insulated with fireproof, permanent, odorless glass fiber material. Knockouts are provided for utility and control connections. Drain connections are included for indoor water runoff.
Compressor
The compressor is a hermetically sealed, high efficiency Climatuff® two-stage compressor with internal overcurrent, overtemperature protection, and internal pressure relief.
Refrigeration System
- All units feature TXV for both cooling and heating.
- Service pressure tap ports and a refrigerant line filter dryer are standard.
- Evaporator Coil - (2-4 Ton Models): All aluminum micro channel, extruded tubes, mechanically bonded to aluminum fins. Factory pressure and leak tested at 480 - 650 psig.
- Evaporator Coil - (5 Ton Models): Internally enhanced 3/8" OD seamless copper tubing mechanically bonded to aluminum fins. Factory pressure and leak tested at 480 - 650 psig.
Condenser Coil
The Spine Fin™ condenser coil is continuously wrapped, corrosion-resistant all aluminum with minimal brazed joints. It uses 3/8 inch O.D. seamless aluminum tubing glued to a continuous aluminum fin. Coils are lab tested to withstand 2,000 pounds per square inch. The outdoor coil offers low airflow resistance and efficient heat transfer, and is protected by louvered panels on all four sides.
Indoor Air Fan
A direct-drive, forward-curved, centrifugal wheel is used in a Composite Vortica® Blower housing. The motor has thermal overload protection and permanently lubricated bearings. The motor/blower assembly is isolated from the unit with rubber mounts.
Condenser Fan
A direct-drive, draw-thru propeller type fan is used. The weather-proofed permanent split capacitor fan motor includes built-in thermal overload protection and permanently lubricated motor bearings.
System Controls
System controls include contactors for the condenser fan, evaporator fan, and compressor.
Accessories
- Roof Curb: Designed to mate with the unit for support and weathertight installation. Includes adhesive-backed polyurethane sealing strips for an airtight seal. Allows direct connection of field fabricated ductwork. Ships knocked down for field assembly and includes factory-installed wood nailer strips.
- Electric Heaters: Each heater assembly includes power supply fusing (if over 48 amps), automatic resetting limit switches, and heat limiters for thermal protection. Provided with polarized plugs for quick connection to unit low voltage wiring. UL listed.
- Single Source Power Entry: Allows single source power connection for the unit and electric heat accessory. Includes high voltage terminal blocks, fuse blocks and fuses, cut-to-length wiring, and junction box (if required) for fused protection of both unit and heater. Installs within the unit cabinet. Branch power circuit must be protected and wired per local codes.
- Fully Modulating Economizer: Field installed accessory comprising a 0-100% fresh air damper, damper drive motor, fixed dry bulb enthalpy control, and low voltage wiring plug. Optional solid state or differential enthalpy control. Economizer operation is controlled by the enthalpy control's preset position. A barometric relief damper is standard, providing gravity closing and preventing outside air entry during the "off" cycle. Requires BAYRLAY004A relay kit for heat pump interface.
- Manual Outside Air Dampers: Field installed rain hood and screen. Suitable for up to 25% outside air.
- Start Kit: Provides extra compressor starting capacity for single-phase equipment.
Control Options
- Standard Indoor Thermostats: Available in manual or automatic changeover for two-stage or one-stage heating/cooling.
- Programmable Electronic Night Setback Thermostat: Offers heating setback and cooling setup with 7-day programmability.
