Accessory Description and Usage
Anti-Short Cycle Timer: Solid state timing device preventing compressor recycling until five (5) minutes after satisfying call or power interruptions. Useful for areas with questionable power delivery, commercial applications, or long linesets.
Evaporation Defrost Control: SPST Temperature actuated switch that cycles the condenser off when the indoor coil reaches freeze-up conditions. Used for low ambient cooling down to 30°F with TXV.
Rubber Isolators: Five (5) large rubber donuts designed to isolate the condensing unit from transmitting vibrations to the mounting frame or pad. Recommended for applications where sound transmission needs to be minimized.
Extreme Condition Mount Kit: Bracket kits for securely mounting the condensing unit to a frame or pad without removing panels. Suitable for areas with high winds or on commercial rooftops.
AHRI Standard Capacity Rating Conditions
AHRI Standard 210/240 Rating Conditions
- Cooling: 80°F DB, 67°F WB air entering indoor coil; 95°F DB air entering outdoor coil.
- High Temperature Heating: 47°F DB, 43°F WB air entering outdoor coil; 70°F DB air entering indoor coil.
- Low Temperature Heating: 17°F DB air entering outdoor coil.
- Rated indoor airflow for heating is the same as for cooling.
AHRI Standard 270 Rating Conditions
(Noise rating numbers are determined with the unit in cooling operations.) Standard Noise Rating number is at 95°F outdoor air.

Wiring Diagram
Wiring diagrams are provided for the 036A3 – 060A3 models (Figure 1) and 036A4 – 060A4 models (Figure 2). A legend (Figure 3) explains wire colors, component abbreviations (e.g., CPR for Compressor, HPCO for High Pressure Cutout Switch), and terminal designations. Key components include compressors, fans, contactors, relays, and various sensors.
Legend and Warning Notes:
- ODT-B usage requires specific jumper placement and enclosure.
- ODT-A usage requires specific jumper placement.
- Low voltage (24V) field wiring requires a minimum of 18 AWG.
- Material for labels is white polypropylene suitable for outdoor environments with pressure-sensitive adhesive.
- Size of labels is 8 1/2" x 11".
General Notes on Wiring:
- Wiring diagrams are for reference; always consult unit nameplate and local codes.
- Thermally protected compressors are indicated.
- Sump heaters are shown.
- Optional ODT-A and ODT-B sensors are indicated.
- Connections to typical air handler and thermostat controls are shown.
- For Canadian installations, the equipment is not suitable for systems exceeding 150V to ground.
- Three-phase motors are factory supplied and protected under primary single-phase conditions.

Mechanical Specification Options
General: Outdoor condensing units are factory charged for the specified outdoor unit, 10 feet of connecting line, and the smallest rated indoor evaporative coil match. Designed for outdoor ambient temperatures up to 115°F. Cooling capacities are matched with AHRI-certified air handlers and furnace coils. Certified to UL 60335-2-40. Exterior designed for outdoor application.
Casing: Constructed of heavy gauge, galvanized steel with a weather-resistant powder paint finish. Corner panels are prepainted. All panels undergo a 1,000-hour salt spray test.
Refrigerant Controls: System includes condenser fan, compressor contactor, and low/high pressure switches. A factory-supplied, field-installed liquid line drier is standard.
Compressor: Features internal over-temperature and pressure protection. Includes centrifugal oil pump for low vibration and noise.
Condenser Coil: Provides low airflow resistance and efficient heat transfer. Protected on all four sides by louvered panels.
Low Ambient Cooling: Standard cooling capacity down to 55°F. With an evaporator defrost control, operation is permitted down to 40°F. With an evaporator defrost control and TXV, low ambient cooling is possible down to 30°F. The BAYLOAM107A low ambient kit allows operation down to 20°F ambient.
Thermostats: Options include cooling-only and heat/cooling (manual/automatic changeover) thermostats. Sub-bases match thermostats, and a locking thermostat cover is available.
