What's Included

Before you begin, ensure you have the following items:

Hardware Overview

Familiarize yourself with the components of your NR5101 router:

• Power Port: Connect the included power adapter here. ?
• Ethernet Port (WAN/LAN): Connect to your modem or a computer using the Ethernet cable. This port can be configured as a WAN or LAN port. ?
• SIM Card Slot: Insert your 5G SIM card here. ?
• Reset Button: Press and hold to restore the router to factory default settings. ↩️
• WPS Button: Press to initiate Wi-Fi Protected Setup for easy device connection. ?️
• Wi-Fi Button: Press to toggle the Wi-Fi radios on or off. ?
• USB Port: For potential future use or firmware updates. ?

LED Indicators:

• Power LED: Solid green indicates the device is powered on. ?
• Internet LED: Solid green indicates an active internet connection. ?
• Wi-Fi LED: Solid green indicates the Wi-Fi network is active. ?
• 5G Signal Strength LEDs: These LEDs indicate the quality of your 5G cellular signal. More solid lights mean a stronger signal. ?

Getting Started: Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Zyxel NR5101 5G Router:

1. Insert SIM Card:

   Locate the SIM card slot on the router. Use the ejector tool (if provided) or a small paperclip to gently push the eject button next to the slot. Pull out the SIM tray, place your nano-SIM card correctly onto the tray, and then slide the tray back into the router until it clicks into place. ?➡️⚙️

2. Connect Power:

   Connect the power adapter to the Power Port on the router and plug the other end into a wall outlet. The router will power on automatically. ?➡️?

3. Wait for Boot-up:

   Allow the router a few minutes to boot up and establish a 5G connection. The LED indicators will show the status. ⏳

4. Connect Your Devices:

   You can connect your devices wirelessly or via an Ethernet cable.

   • Wireless Connection: Look for the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password printed on the label on the bottom or back of your router. Select this network on your device (smartphone, laptop, tablet) and enter the password. ??➡️?
   • Wired Connection: Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the router and the other end to your computer's Ethernet port. ?➡️?

Nebula Cloud Management

The NR5101 supports Zyxel's Nebula Cloud Management platform, offering centralized control and monitoring of your network from anywhere. To get started:

• Download the "Zyxel Air" app from your device's app store (iOS or Android). ?
• Follow the in-app instructions to register your device and add it to your Nebula account.
• Alternatively, you can access Nebula via a web browser by visiting nebula.zyxel.com.

Nebula provides advanced features like remote configuration, firmware updates, and network diagnostics.

Troubleshooting Tips

• No Internet Connection: Ensure the SIM card is properly inserted and activated. Check the 5G signal strength LEDs. Try restarting the router. ❌?
• Wi-Fi Not Visible: Make sure the Wi-Fi LED is on. Press the Wi-Fi button to toggle it if necessary. Check your device's Wi-Fi settings. ❌?
• Slow Speeds: Ensure you have a strong 5G signal. Try moving the router to a location with better reception. ?➡️?
