Overview
The Shopping Mentor Magento 2 Extension by Elsner Technologies enhances the e-commerce shopping experience by guiding customers through a personalized product selection process. Using a question-based interface, it narrows down product options based on user preferences (e.g., usage, budget, color, size), presenting up to 20 tailored product recommendations. This AI-driven tool simplifies decision-making, educates customers with informative content, and boosts conversions by offering relevant products, making it ideal for stores with large catalogs.
Installation
- Download: Purchase from Elsner Technologies.
- Upload: Unzip and upload to
app/code/Elsnertech/ShoppingMentor
in your Magento 2 root directory. - Run Commands:
php bin/magento setup:upgrade
php bin/magento setup:di:compile
php bin/magento cache:clean
- Verify: Check Stores > Configuration > Elsnertech > Shopping Mentor in the Admin Panel.
Configuration
Access settings via Stores > Configuration > Elsnertech > Shopping Mentor.
General Settings
Enable: Select Yes to activate or No to disable the extension.
Filter and Question Setup

Add Questions:
- Navigate to Admin > smart filter > Manage smart filters.
- Add questions (e.g., "What is your budget?” or “Choose your color”) with 4–5 answer options per question.
- Assign questions to specific categories or products.

Filter Display Options:
- Configure filters to appear on selected pages (e.g., Homepage, Category Pages).
- Customize question order and visibility per category.

Product Descriptions:
Use the Fill Description section in the Admin Panel to manage product descriptions via the page builder for informative content.
Save: Click Save Config and clear caches in System > Cache Management.
