How to Install the Linksys Velop Wall Mount
Introduction
The Linksys Velop Wall Mount allows you to mount your Velop node on the wall, saving shelf space and potentially improving Wi-Fi coverage. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installation and setup.
Before You Begin
- Ensure an electrical outlet is within reach of your desired wall mount location.
- The kit includes two interchangeable mounting caps for Linksys Velop Tri-Band (WHW03) and Velop Dual-Band (WHW01, VLP01) models. Select the correct cap for your Velop device.
Installation Steps
Step 1: Insert Mounting Cap
Insert the appropriate mounting cap into the wall mount base.
Step 2: Secure Mounting Cap
Secure the mounting cap to the base using one screw in the lower middle portion of the bracket.
Step 3: Mount to Wall
Using the remaining screws and anchors, secure the wall mount to the wall. Ensure the mount is firmly attached.
Step 4: Route Power Cable
Run the power cable through the wall mount and connect it to your Velop node. The cable can also be coiled neatly inside the mount.

Step 5: Attach Node to Mount
Insert the Velop node into the mounted bracket.

Setting Up the Velop System
Using an Android Device
This section guides you through setting up your Linksys Velop Intelligent Mesh WiFi System using an Android mobile device.
Requirements:
- A modem (or modem router) with an active internet connection.
- An Android mobile device with the latest version of the Linksys app.
Directions:
- Disconnect the modem from the power outlet and remove your existing router.
- Connect the modem to the internet port on the primary Velop node.
- Connect the modem and the node to the power outlet. Wait for the node's indicator light to turn solid purple.
- Once the light is solid purple, open the Linksys app and tap 'Launch setup'.
- If prompted, turn on Bluetooth ${ }^{\circledR}$ and grant location access to the Linksys app.
- The app will search for the node. If not found, select 'VELOP' from the device type options.
- Confirm if the node connected to your modem is blinking purple. Tap 'Yes, it's Blinking Purple' or follow on-screen instructions if it is not.
- The app will check the internet connection. You may be prompted to connect to the node's default Wi-Fi name (found on the bottom of the node) temporarily. Return to the app and tap 'Next'.
- Create a Linksys account or log in with existing credentials.
- Personalize your Wi-Fi network by creating a Wi-Fi name and password, then tap 'Next'.
- Select a location for the node from the provided list or choose 'Name it something else' for a custom name. Tap 'Next'.
- The node setup is complete. Tap 'Next'.
- Optionally, tap 'Add a Node' to expand your network or 'Skip this step' to do it later.
- Updates will occur overnight. You can choose to allow crash reporting to improve Wi-Fi performance. Tap 'Next'.
- Your Wi-Fi is ready. Connect your devices. Tap 'Go to Dashboard' to view connection status.
Using an iOS Device
Setting up your Velop system with an iOS device is also straightforward using the Linksys app.
Requirements:
- Latest Linksys app version.
- iOS device: iOS 11.4 or later.
- A modem or gateway with an active internet connection.
Directions:
- Launch the Linksys app and tap 'Set up a New Wi-Fi Network'.
- Turn on Bluetooth ${ }^{\circledR}$ on your iOS device when prompted.
- Read and tap 'Agree' to the Terms and Conditions if presented.

- Check the node's indicator light. If it is blinking purple, tap 'Yes, it's Blinking Purple'.
