How to Install the Linksys Velop Wall Mount

Introduction

The Linksys Velop Wall Mount allows you to mount your Velop node on the wall, saving shelf space and potentially improving Wi-Fi coverage. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installation and setup.

Before You Begin

Installation Steps

Step 1: Insert Mounting Cap

Insert the appropriate mounting cap into the wall mount base.

Step 2: Secure Mounting Cap

Secure the mounting cap to the base using one screw in the lower middle portion of the bracket.

Step 3: Mount to Wall

Using the remaining screws and anchors, secure the wall mount to the wall. Ensure the mount is firmly attached.

Step 4: Route Power Cable

Run the power cable through the wall mount and connect it to your Velop node. The cable can also be coiled neatly inside the mount.

Step 5: Attach Node to Mount

Insert the Velop node into the mounted bracket.

Setting Up the Velop System

Using an Android Device

This section guides you through setting up your Linksys Velop Intelligent Mesh WiFi System using an Android mobile device.

Requirements:

Directions:

  1. Disconnect the modem from the power outlet and remove your existing router.
  2. Connect the modem to the internet port on the primary Velop node.
  3. Connect the modem and the node to the power outlet. Wait for the node's indicator light to turn solid purple.
  4. Once the light is solid purple, open the Linksys app and tap 'Launch setup'.
  5. If prompted, turn on Bluetooth ${ }^{\circledR}$ and grant location access to the Linksys app.
  6. The app will search for the node. If not found, select 'VELOP' from the device type options.
  7. Confirm if the node connected to your modem is blinking purple. Tap 'Yes, it's Blinking Purple' or follow on-screen instructions if it is not.
  8. The app will check the internet connection. You may be prompted to connect to the node's default Wi-Fi name (found on the bottom of the node) temporarily. Return to the app and tap 'Next'.
  9. Create a Linksys account or log in with existing credentials.
  10. Personalize your Wi-Fi network by creating a Wi-Fi name and password, then tap 'Next'.
  11. Select a location for the node from the provided list or choose 'Name it something else' for a custom name. Tap 'Next'.
  12. The node setup is complete. Tap 'Next'.
  13. Optionally, tap 'Add a Node' to expand your network or 'Skip this step' to do it later.
  14. Updates will occur overnight. You can choose to allow crash reporting to improve Wi-Fi performance. Tap 'Next'.
  15. Your Wi-Fi is ready. Connect your devices. Tap 'Go to Dashboard' to view connection status.

Using an iOS Device

Setting up your Velop system with an iOS device is also straightforward using the Linksys app.

  1. Launch the Linksys app and tap 'Set up a New Wi-Fi Network'.
  2. Turn on Bluetooth ${ }^{\circledR}$ on your iOS device when prompted.
  3. Read and tap 'Agree' to the Terms and Conditions if presented.
  4. The app will search for your node. [App screen showing 'Looking for nearby Linksys devices...']
  5. Check the node's indicator light. If it is blinking purple, tap 'Yes, it's Blinking Purple'.
  6. The app will configure the internet connection. [App screen showing 'Checking for internet...']
  7. Log in to your Linksys account or create a new one by entering your email and password, then tap 'Create Account'. [App screen showing 'Create an Account']
  8. The app will link your account to the node. [App screen showing 'Linking to your account...']
  9. Personalize your Wi-Fi by creating a Wi-Fi name and password. Tap 'Next'. You may be prompted to join the new Wi-Fi network; tap 'Join'. [App screen showing 'Name your Wi-Fi']
  10. Select a location for the node or choose 'Name it something else' for a custom name. Tap 'Next'. [App screen showing location options]
  11. Node setup is successful. Tap 'Next'. [App screen showing 'Success! You set up a node.'] A solid blue light indicates the node is online.
  12. To add more nodes, tap 'Add Another Node'. Otherwise, tap 'That's it for Now'.
  13. Updates will occur overnight. You can choose to enable automatic crash reporting. Tap 'Start Update' if available, or 'Next'. [App screen showing update options]
  14. Your Wi-Fi is ready. Connect devices or tap 'Go to Dashboard'.
