- Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
- Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding-type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.
- Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
- Only use attachments and accessories specified by the manufacturer.
- Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over.

Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
- This apparatus must be connected to a mains socket outlet with a protective earth connection.
- If the mains plug or an appliance coupler is used as the disconnect device, the disconnect device shall remain readily operable.
- This product is suitable for use in altitudes up to 2000 meters, and in non-tropical climates only.
Connection Applications
The MS8000 can be used in two primary ways:
1. Creating Multiple Copies of Input Signals
Connect your microphones or other audio sources to the INPUT (IN) XLR connectors. The LINK OUT XLR connectors will provide a direct, transformer-isolated copy of the input signal, allowing you to send the signal to multiple destinations (e.g., a main mixer, a monitor mixer, or a recording device).
2. Combining Signals from Multiple Inputs
By using the LINK switches, you can combine signals from adjacent input channels to create a mixed output. For example, pressing the LINK switch for channels 1-2 will combine the signals from IN 1 and IN 2 into a single output available at the LINK OUT connectors for channels 1 and 2.
Caution: Be careful when using phantom power with linked channels. If phantom power is supplied to both linked channels' LINK OUT connectors, the current to the phantom-powered microphones or DI boxes might be too high.
Controls
The MS8000 features several key controls:
- (1) INPUT (IN) XLR Connectors: Accept audio signals from devices like microphones using balanced XLR cables. Phantom power from a mixer or preamp can pass through the LINK OUT XLR connectors and back through the XLR INPUT connectors to devices requiring phantom power.
- (2) LINK Switch: When pressed, pairs adjacent channels. This allows a single input signal to have two outputs or enables mixing two input signals into one combined output.
- (3) LIFT/GND Switch: When released (up), it disconnects the ground connection, reducing hum or noise from ground loops.
- (4) LINK OUT XLR Connectors: Provide a copy of the pre-transformer input signal for use with additional equipment. Phantom power from a mixer or preamp can be sent through the MS8000's LINK OUT connectors and back through the XLR INPUT connectors to microphones and other devices that may require phantom power.
- (5) OUT XLR Connectors: Send a copy of the post-transformer input signal to a mixer or other equipment. The transformer isolates phantom power present in the INPUT (IN) and LINK OUT XLR connectors.
