La Crosse Technology Atomic Digital Wall Clock

Power Up

1. Insert 2-AA batteries into your Outdoor Sensor.
2. Insert 2-AA batteries into your Atomic Clock.
3. Adjust your time and date settings (covered on the next page).
4. Once the sensor is reading to your clock, place the sensor outside in a shaded location. See page 5 for more mounting details.

Atomic Time Signal:

• The clock will search for the Atomic Time Signal when powered on and at UTC 7:00, 8:00, 9:00, 10:00, and 11:00.
• The Atomic Time Signal Icon [atomic-signal-icon] will flash while searching and be solid when it has connected.
• From the normal time display, hold the - [adjust-button] button to manually start or stop a search for the WWVB time signal. For information about WWVB visit: bit.ly/atomic_time.

Settings Menu

Entering the Settings Menu:

1. Hold the [temp-unit] button until the display changes to enter the Settings Menu. Press and release the [adjust-button] buttons to adjust values. Hold to adjust quickly.
2. Press and release the [temp-unit] button to confirm values and move to the next setting.
3. Press and release the [snooze-button] button at any time to exit.

• 12/24 Hour Time Format
• Hour
• Minute
• Year
• Month
• Date

Time Zones:

• Zone AST - Atlantic
• Zone EST - Eastern
• Zone CST - Central
• Zone MST - Mountain
• Zone PST - Pacific
• Zone AKT - Alaska
• Zone HAT - Hawaii

Language: Whichever language is selected, the following instructions and weekday will be presented in that language.

Atomic OFF: When Atomic OFF is selected, your next setting will be the 12/24 Hour Time Format.

Weekday: Your weekday display will adjust automatically once you have your Year, Month, and Date settings set correctly.

Fahrenheit or Celsius

Press and release the [temp-unit] button to select Fahrenheit or Celsius Temperature Display.

Time Alarm

Set Alarm:

1. Hold the [alarm-button] button to enter the Alarm Settings.
2. Use the [adjust-button] button to adjust the flashing Alarm Hour.
3. Press and release the [alarm-button] button to confirm and move to the minutes.
4. Use the [adjust-button] button to adjust the flashing Alarm Minutes.
5. Press and release the [alarm-button] button to confirm and exit.

Silence a Sounding Alarm: Press any button except [snooze-button] to silence the alarm for 24 hours.

Activate/Deactivate Alarm:

• Press and release the [alarm-button] button to view the Alarm Time. Press and release again to activate or deactivate the alarm.
• The [alarm-icon] will show when the alarm is active.

Snooze: When the alarm sounds, press the [snooze-button] button to silence the alarm for 10 minutes. The [alarm-icon] will flash while snoozing.

Note: The alarm will sound with increasing frequency for two minutes, then shut off automatically if not silenced.

Temperature Trend Arrows

Both the Indoor and Outdoor Temperature values have Trend Arrows to indicate changes (2°F / 1°C or more) over the past three hour period.

• Temperature has risen over the past three hours.
• Temperature has been steady over the past three hours.
• Temperature has fallen over the past three hours.

Sensor Placement & Mounting

For Accurate Temperature Measurements:

• Insert a mounting screw through the hole at the top to securely mount the sensor. It can also hang from the back using a nail.
• Mount the sensor vertically in a protected well-shaded area. Keeping it out of direct weather elements such as sunlight, rain, snow, etc. will help avoid inaccurate readings.
• For additional protection against weather elements, a Sensor Weather Shield: bit.ly/weather-shield can be purchased separately.
• The maximum wireless transmission range to the station is up to 330ft (100m) in open air. This does not include walls, floors, or other large obstructions.

Search for Outdoor Sensor

If you are seeing dashes for your outdoor readings, please try the following steps:

1. Hold the + [plus-button] button to search for your outdoor sensor. The [reception-indicator] will begin to animate.
2. If after 3 minutes the sensor still isn't connected, bring the sensor inside next to the display and remove the batteries from both the sensor and clock.
3. Press any button on the clock 20 times and leave the parts sit for a few moments without the batteries.
4. Install a new set of alkaline batteries into the sensor, then into your clock.

Low Battery Indicator:

• [low-battery-icon] by Outdoor Temperature, replace batteries in the Outdoor Sensor.
• [low-battery-icon] by the Time, replace batteries in the Clock.

Care & Maintenance: Battery Replacement Instructions

When batteries of different brand or type are used together, or new and old batteries are used together, some batteries may be over-discharged due to a difference of voltage or capacity. This can result in venting, leakage, and rupture and may cause personal injury.

• Always purchase the correct size and grade of battery most suitable for the intended use.
• Always replace the whole set of batteries at one time, taking care not to mix old and new ones, or batteries of different types.
• Clean the battery contacts and also those of the device prior to battery installation.
