This document outlines the installation process for the Stelpro SIBT1W Built-in Mechanical Thermostat Kit, designed for electric baseboard heaters.

Important Safety Information

WARNING: THIS THERMOSTAT MUST BE INSTALLED BY AN ELECTRICIAN.

The thermostat should be installed before wiring the baseboard heater. If the unit is already installed, turn off the power at the main electrical panel before proceeding.

Installation Steps

  1. Step 1: Prepare the Junction Box

    Remove the front panel [A]. Unscrew the junction box cover on the side chosen for installation and remove it.

  2. Step 2: Knockouts

    Push out the three knockouts on the cover.

  3. Step 3: Mount the Thermostat Bracket

    Align the holes with the thermostat bracket and secure it in place with the two provided screws.

  4. Step 4: Wire the Thermostat

    Wire the thermostat as shown on the diagram. Replace the cover and screw it in place to close the junction box.

Continue installation or reassemble the unit following the steps shown in the baseboard owner's manual. Install the thermostat knob on the shaft.
