Thank you for purchasing the TSI® Q-Trak™ XP Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Monitor. This guide provides a quick start to using your monitor. For detailed information, refer to the Operation Manual.

Unpacking and Parts Identification
Carefully unpack the instrument and accessories. Check all parts against the component list. Notify TSI® immediately if any items are missing or damaged. Standard equipment can be purchased separately.

Installation of Gas Sensors
The device can accommodate up to six gas sensors in addition to its built-in sensors. Follow these steps:
- Ensure the instrument is powered OFF.
- Remove the sensor module cover.
- Position the sensor, ensuring pins make good contact. Sensors can be installed in any available slot. Listen for a click to confirm proper connection.
- Reattach the sensor module cover.
Powering the Q-Trak™ XP Monitor
The monitor can be powered by the lithium-ion battery or the AC adapter.
Operating with the Lithium-Ion Battery:
The lithium-ion battery must be installed and fully charged before use.
To install the battery:
- Remove the battery compartment cover.
- Connect the battery to the handle connector.
- Insert the battery, ensuring wires are routed to the side and clear of the battery cover screw.
- Attach the battery compartment cover, ensuring wires are clear of the screw.
Charging the Battery and Calibrating the Power Gauge:
Calibrate the battery power gauge ⚡.
- With the battery installed, turn on the instrument using the power button (▶️). Let it run until fully discharged. The instrument will turn off automatically.
- Connect the AC adapter and fully charge the battery (up to 3 hours). Note the charging indicator (⚡) versus fully charged (100%).
- The instrument is now ready for use. This calibration is only needed if the battery is replaced or disconnected.
Operating with the AC Adapter:
The instrument can operate with or without a battery using the AC adapter.
To operate with the AC adapter:
- Plug the AC adapter into an electrical outlet.
- Plug the other end into the instrument.
Powering ON the Q-Trak™ XP IAQ Monitor
- Press and release the power button (▶️). The instrument is ready in 35 seconds.
- On first power-up, the "Welcome to Q-Trak™ XP" screen appears. Select your language and time zone, then select DONE.
- After selecting DONE, the Dashboard page displays in Survey mode.
Main Menu and Settings
To display the Main Menu, select the ☰ icon in the upper left corner of the display header.
Select Settings to configure parameters such as:
- General Settings
- Date/Time
- Display/Power Management
- Sensors
- Network Settings
- Units of Measure
- Logging Profile
- Notifications/Alarms
- PM Calibration
