Samsung Washing Machine User Guide
This guide provides information on operating your Samsung washing machine, including initial setup, program selection, and smart features.
Getting Started
Powering On: Press the power button ☉ to turn on the washing machine and access the home screen.
The home screen displays the current cycle (e.g., Eco 40-60), estimated time, and options for Dispenser Care (Detergent and Softener). You can also select 'More cycles' to view other wash programs.
Initial Setup of Auto Dispensers
The washing machine automatically dispenses the correct amount of detergent for the selected cycle. Access the 'Detergent' or 'Softener' buttons to configure the auto-dispenser settings.
You can set the type, concentration, and amount of detergent or softener. The system provides information on average consumption, dispenser capacity, and current status.
Program Selection
Press the 'More cycles' button to choose your desired wash program. A list of available programs will be displayed, including options like Cotton, Super Speed, Mixed Load, Wool, and various specialized cycles.
Navigate through the list using the scroll arrow. For detailed information on each program, refer to the product's user manual.
Wash Options
Customize your wash by selecting options such as:
- Temperature: Tap the 'Temp.' icon to select the wash temperature. Some programs have pre-set temperatures.
- Rinse: Tap the 'Rinse' icon to adjust the number of rinses.
- Spin: Tap the 'Spin' icon to select the spin speed (RPM). 'No Spin' is also an option.
You can also access the 'Delay final' function using the designated icon 🕙 to set a delayed finish time for your wash cycle.
Press the play icon ▶ to start the program with your selected settings.
Product Care and Monitoring
Access product care features by sliding left from the main screen. Options include:
- Drum Clean: Initiate a self-cleaning cycle for the drum. You can also set reminders for cleaning after a certain number of uses or programs.
- Energy Usage: Monitor monthly energy consumption ('Usage' and 'Savings').
- Water Usage: Track monthly water consumption.
The 'Drum Clean' function can be started immediately by selecting 'Clean now'.
Operations Menu
Slide up from the main screen to access additional icons:
- SmartThings: Connect your washing machine to the SmartThings app for remote control and monitoring. This includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth setup.
- Timer: Set a timer for various functions.
- Bixby: Access Samsung's voice assistant for voice commands and control.
- Weather: Check the weather forecast.
- Internet: Browse the internet.
- Gallery: View photos and albums.
- Map View: Map your home and connected smart devices within the SmartThings app.
- Ring: Connect with Ring devices for smart home security features.
- Settings: Access general and washer-specific settings.
- Smart View: Mirror the screen of another mobile device onto the washing machine's display.
- Spotify: Stream music and podcasts.
- YouTube: Watch videos.
SmartThings Integration
Connect to Wi-Fi by navigating to 'Settings' > 'Connections' > 'Wi-Fi'. Select your network and enter the password. The status will show 'Connected' upon successful connection.
Bluetooth can be enabled to connect your phone to the washing machine, allowing mobile call reception on the display.
Easy Connection via QR code is also available to link your device with the SmartThings app.
Within the SmartThings app, you can manage 'Favorites', 'Devices', 'Life', 'Routines', and access 'Menu' for settings, history, notifications, and account management.
Settings
The 'Settings' menu allows for comprehensive customization:
- General Settings: Includes Samsung Account, Connections (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, SmartThings), Lock (child lock), Sounds (volume, tone, mute, sound themes), Volume control, Voice style selection, Display settings (brightness, font size), Avatar selection, Bixby settings (voice wake-up, language, feedback), Microphone control, App lock, Language, Date and time, Liquid units, Accessibility (voice guide, visibility enhancements), Software update, and Support (tutorials, remote support).
- Washer Settings: Configure 'Auto dispensers' (type, concentration, amount), 'Pump clean' cycle, 'AI Pattern' for personalized recommendations, 'My cycles' for custom program lists, and 'Calibration' for accurate weight detection.
Support and Maintenance
The 'Support' section offers access to tutorials and remote assistance. 'Watch tutorial again' provides a product overview, and 'Remote support' allows Samsung customer service to access your appliance remotely for troubleshooting.
Reset options are available for network settings, all settings, and device restart.
Device information, including product name, serial number, software version, MAC address, and legal information, can be found under 'About device'.
