Antenna Radiation Patterns
The following describes the antenna radiation patterns for the EAP653 V1 and V2 models across different frequency bands. These patterns illustrate how the wireless signal is distributed in various directions.
EAP653 V2 Antenna Radiation Patterns
2.45 GHz
Elevation 0° (Azimuthal Pattern): Shows a generally omnidirectional pattern in the horizontal plane, indicating relatively uniform coverage around the access point. Minor lobes and nulls may be present, showing slight variations in signal strength at different horizontal angles.
Elevation 90° (Polar Pattern): Illustrates the vertical coverage. The pattern typically shows a strong signal directly above and below the device, with coverage decreasing at steeper angles away from the vertical axis.
Azimuth Patterns (at 60°, 75°, 90° elevations): These plots detail the signal distribution at different vertical angles. They show how the horizontal coverage is maintained or changes as you move from directly above (0°) to the horizon (90°).
Mapped 3D: Provides a comprehensive 3D view of the radiation. It typically shows a toroidal (doughnut-like) shape, with the strongest signal in the horizontal plane and decreasing signal strength towards the top and bottom.
5.25 GHz
Similar to the 2.45 GHz band, the 5.25 GHz band exhibits a generally omnidirectional pattern in the horizontal plane. The vertical coverage is also strong directly above and below, with variations at different elevation angles. The 3D pattern is typically toroidal.
5.5 GHz
The radiation patterns for 5.5 GHz are comparable to other bands, showing omnidirectional characteristics in the horizontal plane and a primary lobe in the vertical direction. The 3D representation confirms a broad coverage area.
5.75 GHz
The 5.75 GHz band also displays omnidirectional horizontal coverage and a strong vertical radiation pattern. The 3D view indicates a consistent coverage shape across the operational frequencies.
EAP653 V1 Antenna Radiation Patterns
The radiation patterns for the EAP653 V1 are generally similar to the V2 model, demonstrating omnidirectional coverage in the horizontal plane and focused vertical coverage. The specific gain values (dBi) for the antennas differ between V1 and V2, which may result in subtle variations in the exact shape and strength of the radiation lobes.
2.45 GHz, 5.25 GHz, 5.5 GHz, 5.75 GHz: For all these frequency bands, the V1 model shows typical omnidirectional horizontal coverage and a primary vertical lobe. The Azimuth and Mapped 3D plots illustrate the signal distribution, confirming a broad coverage area suitable for ceiling-mounted deployments.

Range and coverage specifications were defined according to test results under normal usage conditions. Actual wireless transmission rate and wireless coverage are not guaranteed, and will vary as a result of environmental factors (including building materials, physical objects, and obstacles), network conditions (including local interference, volume and density of traffic, product location, network complexity, and network overhead), and client limitations (including rated performance, location, connection quality, and client condition).
Wireless Client Capacity Disclaimer
Wireless client capacity specifications were defined according to test results under normal usage conditions. Actual wireless client capacity is not guaranteed, and will vary as a result of environmental factors (including building materials, physical objects, and obstacles), network conditions (including local interference, volume and density of traffic, product location, network complexity, and network overhead), and client limitations (including rated performance, location, connection quality, and client condition).
Ethernet Port Limitation Disclaimer
Actual network speed may be limited by the rate of the product's Ethernet WAN or LAN port, the rate supported by the network cable, Internet service provider factors, and other environmental conditions.
MU-MIMO Disclaimer
(Only for certain devices) MU-MIMO capability requires client devices that also support MU-MIMO.
Seamless Roaming Disclaimer
(Only for certain devices) Seamless roaming requires both the access point and client devices to support 802.11k and 802.11v protocols.
Lightning and Electro-Static Discharge Protection Disclaimer
(Only for outdoor devices) Protection against lightning and electro-static discharge may be achieved through proper product setup, grounding, and cable shielding. Refer to the instruction manual and consult an IT professional to assist with setting up this product.
