GW2000 Quick Start Guide

Getting Started: Power On and Connection

Follow these steps to power on and connect your GW2000 gateway:

  1. Power On: Ensure the device is powered on.
  2. Connect Phone: Connect your smartphone to the GW2000 Wi-Fi Access Point (AP) named 'GW2000X-XXXXXXXX'.
  3. Access Web Interface: Open a web browser and navigate to 192.168.4.1 to access the embedded web page.
  4. Alternative Connection: Alternatively, plug in an Ethernet cable to connect the gateway to your WiFi router. Find its assigned IP address via DHCP.
  5. Access Web Interface (DHCP): Open a web browser and enter the IP address obtained via DHCP to access the embedded web page.

Both connection methods lead to the Login screen. The first login does not require a password, but you can set one on the Device Setting page later. If a password is set, you will need to enter it for subsequent logins.

Setup Process

Complete the following steps to upload data to weather services:

  1. Upload Data: Begin by uploading data to your chosen weather services. Complete steps I through V.

    • Router Setup: Connect to your local network.
    • Device Setting: Configure device-specific settings.
    • Set Timezone and Date: Set the correct timezone and date for accurate readings.
    • Ecowitt Weather Service: Access the service at www.ecowitt.net.
    • Register and Add Device: Register your Ecowitt Weather service account and add your device.

    Note: After applying settings, verify that the IP address has been retrieved correctly.

    If you select 'Auto Timezone' in the Device Setting, you must select the correct Timezone on the Ecowitt.net 'Add Device' page.

    Important: Mark down the MAC address displayed; you will need it to add your device in step 3.

  2. Set Timezone and Date: Configure the device's time settings.
  3. Register Service and Add Device: Register your device with the Ecowitt Weather service or other supported platforms.

WS90 7-in-1 Weather Station

1. Compact and Built to last

The WS90 is a compact and robust 7-in-1 weather station designed for durability.

Key Components:

  • Solar Panel: Provides power for the device.
  • USB Port: For factory use only.
  • NORTH Alignment Indicator: Helps with correct orientation.
  • Haptic Rainfall Sensor: Measures rainfall with enhanced accuracy using anti-vibration technology.

  • Heating power cable connector: For optional heating functionality.
  • Ultrasonic Wind Speed Sensor: Measures wind speed without moving parts.

3. Replaceable Temperature & Humidity Sensor

The Temperature & Humidity Sensor Kit is designed to be replaceable.

Replacement Procedure:

  1. Use a screwdriver to untighten the screws securing the sensor.
  2. Unplug the old sensor unit.
  3. Replace it with a new Temperature & Humidity sensor.

4. Paired with Wi-Fi Hub GW2000

Your private weather station collects data on temperature, humidity, wind direction and speed, light, UV levels, and rainfall. This data is then reported to you through the Ecowitt mobile application or the ecowitt.net website.

Power Consumption

  • Anemometer sensor (main): Powered by an integrated 6.5V/4mA solar panel.
  • Anemometer sensor (backup): Requires 2 x AA 1.5V batteries (not included). Lithium non-rechargeable batteries are recommended.
