Step 1: Install the "doordeer" App
Before setting up your indoor monitor, install the "doordeer" application. You can find it on the [App Store] for iPhone or iPad, or on [Google Play] for Android mobile phones.
Step 2: Installation and User Account Sign-up
After installation, sign up for a user account. Choose the nearest service region for an optimal user experience. The app interface shows fields for email, password, and a region selection dropdown.
Step 3: Add Skybox into the App
The GBF SKYBOX supports both Wi-Fi and RJ45 cable network connections.
For RJ45 Connection: Ensure your router and switch support DHCP. Turn on your mobile phone's Wi-Fi and connect to the same network as the SKYBOX. When you click "add device" in the app, it will find the SKYBOX and allow you to add it to your device list.
For Wi-Fi Connection: Turn off your mobile phone's cellular data. Connect your mobile phone to your local 2.4G Wi-Fi network, which must be the same network the SKYBOX will connect to.
To add your SKYBOX, open the Doordeer app, navigate to the left slider bar, and click "AP Configuration". Follow these steps:
Sub-step 3.1: Connect to SKYBOX Hotspot
Go to your phone's Wi-Fi settings and connect to the SKYBOX hotspot. The hotspot name will start with "cctvp2p-".
Sub-step 3.2: Continue AP Configuration
Return to the Doordeer app. The AP configuration will start automatically. The app will search for your local 2.4G Wi-Fi network and display available networks.
Sub-step 3.3: Enter Wi-Fi Password
Check your Wi-Fi name and enter your local 2.4G Wi-Fi password into the provided fields. Press "START CONFIGURATION".
Sub-step 3.4: Start AP Configuration
Initiate the AP configuration for the SKYBOX. A message will appear on the app screen indicating that Wi-Fi information has been sent to your device and it is connecting to the network. Click "Add Device".
Sub-step 3.5: Find and Add the SKYBOX
The app will find the SKYBOX, and the new device will appear in the "SELECT THE DEVICE YOU WANT TO ADD" window. Tap the device name (e.g., "Doorbell-hhxxxx") to proceed to the next step for naming the SKYBOX.
Sub-step 3.6: Naming the SKYBOX
Assign a new name to your SKYBOX, such as "Unit 101". Then, click "CONFIRM".
Step 4: Accessing the SKYBOX
Sub-step 3.7: View SKYBOX on App Front Page
After successfully adding the SKYBOX to your app, it will appear on the app's front page, showing its online status.
Sub-step 3.8: Access SKYBOX Features
Once the SKYBOX is added, you can access your room within the Doordeer app. This allows you to view the outdoor station camera, hear audio, speak, and unlock remotely from your smartphone.
Tips
During SKYBOX Setup: When connecting the SKYBOX to your smartphone via Wi-Fi, ensure your smartphone's Cellular Data is turned off and that it is connected to the same local 2.4G Wi-Fi network as the SKYBOX.
