- Step 2: Plug the power line of the pump into the plug on the solar panel and fasten securely.
- Step 3: Insert the base of the stake (C) into the ground first, followed by the main stake (D). Gently insert the rest of the stake into the base. It is recommended to wet the ground first to ease insertion. Avoid pushing directly against the solar cell or the ornament housing containing the LED light.
Installation and Placement
Finding an Ideal Place for the Solar Light:
Place the solar light in an area that receives direct sunlight for at least 8 hours per day. The duration of illumination is directly proportional to the hours of sunlight received. Shaded areas will limit charging and illumination time. Avoid placing the light near other outdoor lighting, such as porch or streetlights, as these may interfere with the sensor, preventing the light from coming on or causing it to turn off automatically.
Charging and Operation
Charging:
- Charge the solar product by placing it under direct sunlight for at least 8 hours. A longer charging time is recommended for the first use.
- To operate using the battery, turn the switch located under the solar panel to the "ON" position. The battery will then work automatically.
- If the switch is "OFF", the solar panel will power the pump directly, and the battery will not be used.
Operation:
- The light will work automatically.
- The pump/fountain function works best when fully charged under direct sunlight.
- When there is no sun, the built-in batteries will power the fountain water and light for a minimum of a few hours.
Care and Maintenance Recommendations
- Clean the solar panel with a soft sponge every couple of weeks.
- Ensure all connectors are tight and free from water ingress.
- Keep the water clean during summer, topping up every 3 or 4 days with clean water.
- Clean any pipes monthly to prevent algae build-up, which can put extra pressure on the pump.
- Remove any foreign bodies around the pump and keep the solar product clean.
- Always ensure there is enough water for the pump to work to prevent damage.
- When cleaning, face the solar panel down on a towel to stop the pump from running, or switch it off.
- During winter, bring the unit inside and give it a good clean, ready for the next year.
