Assembly Instructions / Instructions for Use
Unpack the components carefully. Please check all parts have been removed from the packaging.
Find an Ideal Place for the Solar Light
Place the solar light in an area where it will receive direct sunlight for at least 8 hours per day. The number of hours the light will illuminate is directly proportional to the hours of sunlight it receives. If the light is placed in a shaded area, it will not be able to fully charge and its illumination time will be limited. Do not place the light near other outdoor lighting like porch or streetlights. These may fool the sensor and keep the light from coming on, or cause it to turn off automatically.
The solar panel has an ON/OFF button located on its backside.
Charging and Operation
- Firstly, press the button on the backside of the solar panel to the "ON" position for charging. Charge by placing it in direct sunlight for at least 8 hours. Secondly, press the button again to the "OFF" position; the light will be off and stop charging.
- The light will work automatically after the button is first pressed. It will charge in direct sunlight during the day and illuminate at night.
Note: To check the solar function, press the button, place the solar panel in sunlight, then cover the solar panel with your hand; the light should turn "ON" automatically.
Important:
- Install the solar light in an area where it can get direct sunlight.
- Leave the button in the "ON" position.
Additional Placement and Operation Notes
- Select an outdoor location away from other light sources at night, such as street lights, which may cause the product not to turn on automatically.
- Duration of light depends on solar product's level of sunshine exposure, geographical locations, weather conditions, and the hours of daylight.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting
- Ensure the switch is set to the "ON" position.
- Keep the solar panel clean.
- If the solar product does not light up after approximately 8-12 months of use, replace the rechargeable batteries. Batteries may be weak or worn out (Battery: 1pc "AA" 1.2V 600mAh, Ni-MH, Rechargeable - same equivalent type as recommended must be used).
Care and Maintenance Recommendations
- Clean the solar panel with a soft sponge every couple of weeks.
- Ensure all connectors are still tight and no water is getting in.
- During winter, bring the unit inside for a good clean, ready for the next year.
Battery Replacement
- The battery compartment is located underneath the solar panel. Remove the battery compartment cover using a small Phillips head screwdriver (not included).
- Remove the exhausted battery and install one new AA rechargeable battery according to the polarity symbol indicated on the battery compartment. Open the compartment carefully and ensure that welding wires inside the battery terminals are not damaged.
- Replace the battery compartment cover, screw it back into position, and ensure it is properly sealed.
Batteries (Safety Precautions)
- Keep batteries away from children and pets.
- Do not mix used and new batteries.
- Remove batteries if left for long periods.
- Never dispose of batteries in a fire.
- Spent or expired batteries must be properly disposed of and recycled in compliance with local regulations. For detailed information, contact your local authority.
