Installation Steps
Step 1: Install the CPU
Carefully align the CPU with the socket and lower it into place. Ensure the CPU is correctly oriented and do not force it.
Step 2: Install the CPU fan
Follow the specific instructions for your CPU cooler (Type 1 or Type 2) to mount it securely over the CPU. This typically involves attaching brackets and applying thermal paste.
Step 3: Install memory modules
Open the clips on the DIMM slots. Align the memory module notch with the slot key and press down firmly on both ends until the clips lock into place.
Step 4: Install storage devices
Connect your storage devices (e.g., M.2 SSDs, SATA HDDs/SSDs) to the appropriate slots and connectors on the motherboard.
Step 5: Install expansion card(s)
Open the retention clip on the desired PCIe slot. Align the expansion card with the slot and press down firmly until it is seated. Secure the card with the case bracket.
Step 6: Install the system panel connector
Connect the system panel connectors (e.g., power switch, reset switch, HDD LED, power LED) to the corresponding pins on the motherboard header.
Step 7: Install ATX power connectors
Connect the main 24-pin ATX power connector and the 8-pin (or 4+4 pin) CPU power connector to the motherboard.
Step 8: Connect input/output devices
Connect your monitor (HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA), keyboard, mouse, and other peripherals to the rear I/O panel ports.
Step 9: Power on the system and install operating system and drivers
Connect the power cord, turn on the system, and proceed to install your operating system and the necessary drivers from the ASUS support website or the included media.
