Sonance Visual Performance Retrofit Enclosure
Beyond Sound
Introduction
Sonance Retrofit Speaker Enclosures reduce sound transmission into rooms adjacent to speakers mounted in walls or ceilings. Proper installation ensures a tight seal with the speaker for effectiveness.
Installation Instructions
For Standard Speaker Models
Select one set of "+" and "-" terminals on the Retrofit Enclosure and connect wires to the corresponding terminals on the speaker. Connect the red wire to the speaker's "+" terminal and the black wire to the speaker's "-" terminal. Mark the selected terminals on the enclosure exterior. Use provided screws to attach the enclosure to the speaker, fitting the groove on the enclosure's edge onto the speaker's rim.
Note: Ensure the rubber gasket remains inside the groove on the enclosure.
To ensure proper gasket seating, tighten screws in a crisscross and diagonal pattern, applying equal torque to each screw. Use low-torque settings and avoid over-tightening.
Connect speaker wires from the amplifier to the marked enclosure terminals.
For Bi-Wired and Single Stereo Speakers
Remove jumpers connecting the two sets of terminals on bi-wired speakers. Connect one set of terminal wires from the Retrofit Enclosure to one set of the speaker's "+" and "-" terminals. Connect the other set of terminal wires from the enclosure to the remaining speaker terminals. Attach the enclosure to the speaker with provided screws, fitting the groove on the enclosure's edge onto the speaker's rim.
Note: Ensure the rubber gasket remains inside the groove on the enclosure.
To ensure proper gasket seating, tighten screws in a crisscross and diagonal pattern, applying equal torque to each screw. Use low-torque settings and avoid over-tightening.
Connect both sets of speaker wires to the enclosure's terminals, ensuring correct polarity.
Architectural Series Brackets
Installation is similar, with the enclosure attaching to the Architectural Series bracket instead of the speaker. This must be done prior to installing the bracket in the wall or ceiling.
