Product Overview
The D-Link DGS-1008P is an 8-port Gigabit Ethernet switch featuring 4 Power over Ethernet (PoE) ports. It is designed to provide a cost-effective solution for small businesses and home offices, enabling the connection of multiple devices to a network while powering compatible devices like IP cameras and wireless access points directly through the Ethernet cables.
Front Panel Description
The front panel of the DGS-1008P switch features LED indicators and network ports:
- LED Indicators:
- Power: Indicates the status of the power supply.
- PoE Max.: Indicates if the maximum PoE power budget is being utilized.
- PoE: Indicates if PoE is enabled on the corresponding port.
- Port LEDs (1-8): Each port has LEDs for 10/100M (Link/Act) and 1000M (Link/Act) speeds, indicating network connection status and activity.
- Network Ports:
- Ports 1-8: Eight RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet ports for connecting network devices. Ports 1-4 support PoE.
