Midea Limited Warranty for Energy Manager System Products

Introduction

This Limited Warranty applies to MIDEA Energy Manager System Products purchased and installed in Australia.

Midea products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Consumers are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. Goods are also entitled to be repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

OEM products are not covered by these warranty terms and conditions. Warranty for OEM products should comply with the respective contract.

Warranty Period

The Warranted Products are subject to the following standard warranty periods, unless otherwise agreed in the purchase contract:

Note: If a warranty period was specified on the sales order, that period will be honored.

The Standard Warranty Period begins from the original end-user purchase date. If the customer cannot provide adequate proof of original purchase, the warranty start date will be 6 months after the product's manufacture date.

Warranty Extension

Customers wishing to purchase an Extended Warranty for any MIDEA Inverter Product must submit a written offer to MIDEA within 12 months of the Inverter Product's installation date. Customers may, at their discretion, purchase an extended warranty period of 5 years from MIDEA. The total Warranty Period (Standard + Extended) shall not exceed 15 years. Warranty extension certificates will be provided upon purchase.

Out of Warranty

If the warranty has expired, MIDEA will charge the end user for on-site service, parts, labor, and logistics expenses. The specific costs are detailed in the table below:

Warranty Conditions

To claim warranty for a faulty inverter within the MIDEA warranty period, please report the defect with a brief error description to the service hotline for registration. Send the warranty card to the service department via fax/email. Alternatively, contact your dealer (MIDEA authorized dealer or distributor) or installer if the unit is defective or faulty.

To make a claim, the following information and documentation for the faulty inverter are required:

  1. Product Model and serial number
  2. A copy of the valid purchasing invoice
  3. Fault descriptions and error IDs (where applicable)
  4. End user and/or claimant details
  5. Detailed information about the entire system (module, PV system diagram, installation date, etc.)
  6. Documentation of previous claims/exchanges (if applicable)

If an inverter is faulty under MIDEA warranty, it will be:

If an inverter is exchanged, the remainder of the warranty period will transfer to the replacement unit. A new warranty card will not be issued, but the replacement will be registered by MIDEA. If the remaining warranty period is less than 6 months, the replacement unit will receive a 6-month warranty.

The warranty covers the cost of work and materials for a faultless functioning inverter. Costs not covered include transports, travel, and accommodation for MIDEA personnel, as well as costs incurred by the customer's staff. Claims for direct or indirect damages arising from the defective inverter are not covered.

Faulty inverters and components must be returned to MIDEA in their original or equivalent packaging for transportation.

MIDEA reserves the right to arrange warranty service directly or use third parties. All warranty services are free of charge only if the action is agreed with MIDEA in advance.

Claiming Process

In case of a fault, contact the installer for preliminary troubleshooting. Contact MIDEA if necessary. To make a claim, the end user must:

Warranty Limitations

The manufacturer's warranty does not cover defects caused by the following situations (Dealers or Distributors are responsible for investigating these):

  1. "Warranty Card" not being sent back to Distributor/Dealer or MIDEA.
  2. Product modification, design changes, or replacement of parts with non-approved MIDEA parts.
  3. Unauthorized changes or repair attempts by technicians, removal of serial numbers or seals.
  4. Incorrect product installation or commissioning.
  5. Failure to comply with safety regulations (SAA standards or equivalent).
  6. Improper storage or damage while stored by the dealer or end user.
  7. Damage during transportation (e.g., painting scratches from movement inside packaging). Claims for transport damage should be made directly to the shipping/insurance company upon unloading.
  8. Failure to follow the user manual, installation guide, or maintenance regulations.
  9. Improper use or misuse of the device.
  10. Insufficient ventilation of the device.
  11. Failure to follow maintenance procedures to an acceptable standard.
  12. Defects caused by force majeure (e.g., severe weather, lightning, overvoltage, fire).

Applicable Law

This warranty is without prejudice to statutory rights, including rights related to rectification, price reduction, rescission of sale, and damages. All demands related to this warranty are subject to Chinese law, with Shenzhen as the exclusive place of jurisdiction for disputes, to be submitted for arbitration to the Shenzhen court of international arbitration. This warranty is in addition to other consumer rights and remedies.
