What's Included

The Conair GMTL30 Professional Hair Trimmer kit includes:

Operating Instructions

Charging

1. Before using the trimmer for the first time, charge continuously for 3 hours. Maximum battery capacity will be reached only after 3 charging and discharging cycles.

2. To charge the trimmer, first ensure the trimmer is switched off. Plug the USB cable into the USB port on the USB adapter (output 5.0V DC, 1000mA), then insert the Micro USB plug into the bottom of the trimmer. Plug the adapter into any wall outlet (at the voltage listed on the adapter label). Unplug adapter when not in use.

3. The adapter may become warm while charging; this is normal.

4. The blue charging LED indicator light on the trimmer will flash when correctly connected. When it is fully charged, the blue charging LED indicator light will stay blue and stop flashing.

5. A full charge will supply approximately 60 minutes of cordless runtime.

6. When the trimmer is running low on a charge, the LED indicator light will flash, warning that there is approximately 6 minutes of battery use remaining.

7. The unit cannot operate while charging.

8. To maintain optimum capacity of the rechargeable battery, it is highly recommended to fully discharge and then recharge the trimmer for 3 hours every 6 months.

CAUTION: If the charging light suddenly starts to flash rapidly, the appliance is faulty. If this happens, please stop charging and remove the adapter from the outlet and contact the customer care center for further advice.

Charging Precautions

Cordless Operation

1. Plug the USB cable into the USB port on the USB adapter (output 5.0V DC, 1000mA), and insert the Micro USB plug into the bottom of the trimmer. Plug the adapter into a suitable outlet. The LED light will appear when the adapter is correctly inserted into the appliance and connected to the outlet.

2. To check if the appliance is charged, switch the trimmer on. If it still does not work, continue charging.

3. Once the appliance is fully charged, the blue LED light will stop flashing but remain on. Unplug the adapter from the outlet, then unplug the appliance, and prepare for use.

Trimmer Usage

Outlining Your Beard

  1. Start with a clean, slightly damp beard (NOT WET).
  2. Comb through your beard in the direction it grows naturally.
  3. Begin under your jawline.
  4. Trim from your chin upward, toward your ears.
  5. Finish upper outline across cheeks.

Trimming Your Beard

  1. On the longest setting, begin trimming your beard using smooth, even strokes. Start with your sideburns and work downward toward your chin. (Never attempt to trim against the natural growth of your beard because the hair will be cut too short.)
  2. If you decide you want a closer trim, adjust the 5-position comb attachment to a shorter setting and go over your beard until you achieve the desired length.

How to Get the Stubble Look

This trimmer includes a stubble comb that allows you to achieve different looks of stubble or shadow looks with your already existing growth. Simply use the comb for the look you would like to achieve. The stubble comb fits on the blade just like the jawline combs (note Blending the Jawline section for specifics on how combs/jawline combs are attached).

Blending the Jawline

Attach a jawline comb to the trimmer, hold the trimmer in an upright position and begin trimming under your jawline, using short, even strokes.

Trimming Your Mustache

  1. Start with a clean, slightly damp mustache (NOT WET).
  2. Comb through your mustache in the direction it grows.
  3. Trim your mustache from the top down; finish by outlining the bottom of your mustache.
  4. Start with the 5-position attachment comb on the longest setting, as you can always go back and shorten the length as desired.

Shaving Foil

1. Make sure the trimmer is in the OFF position.

2. Align the single prong at the bottom of the shaver head with the guide slot in the shaver unit, then push down and forward.

3. Use by applying gentle up and down strokes.

4. To detach the foil shaver: hold the trimmer with your thumb pressing the top, front part of the trimmer head and snap it off. Do not rinse or oil the foil head as it is permanently lubricated.

Rotary Nose & Ear Trimmer

1. Make sure the trimmer is in the OFF position.

2. Insert the pin of the trimmer body into the hexagonal hole of the nose and ear trimmer head as shown (Fig. 1).

3. Press and snap the trimmer head onto the body as shown (Fig. 2).

4. Use trimmer in a circular motion.

5. To detach the nose and ear trimmer: Hold the trimmer as shown (Fig. 3), with the thumb pressing the top, front part of the trimmer head, and snap it off.

  2. Turn the trimmer on.
  3. Hold and point the blades downward.
  4. Spread one drop of oil across the blades.
