Instruction Diagram
The Scope Cam 4K features the following components:
- 1. WiFi LED: Indicates WiFi status.
- 2. WiFi Button: Used to turn WiFi on/off.
- 3. Shutter Button: Used to start/stop recording.
- 4. Battery Status Light: Indicates battery level.
- 5. Recording Status LED: Shows recording status (typically red).
- 6. Microphone: Captures audio.
- 7. Micro-USB: Port for charging and computer connection.
- 8. Charging Status LED: Indicates charging status (red when charging, off when complete).
- 9. Battery Door: Access to the battery compartment.
- 10. Railmount: For mounting the camera.
Charging
The Micro-USB port supports DC 5~17V power supply. A DC 5V 1~2A charger is recommended. The charging status light (red) illuminates during charging and turns off upon completion. A full charge takes approximately 2 hours.
Battery Status
The battery status is indicated by the Battery Status Light:
- Solid Light: Greater than 66% battery.
- Slow Blink: Between 33% and 66% battery.
- Fast Blink: Less than 33% battery.
- Rapid Blink: Less than 10% battery.
MicroSD Card
The camera supports microSD cards up to 128GB. A Class 10/UHS-I/UHS-II/UHS-III card is recommended. For optimal performance, especially at higher resolutions like 4K@30fps, 2.7K@60fps, 1080p@120fps, or 1080p@100fps, a U3 card is recommended. Other resolutions require U1 or above. Ensure the SD card is formatted as FAT32 to prevent errors.
Basic Camera Operation
- Powering On/Off: Long press the Shutter button.
- WiFi On/Off: Short press the WiFi button. The WiFi LED blinks blue when ready to connect and remains solid blue once connected. The default SSID is RCSC4K****** (where * represents letters or numbers), and the default WiFi password is 1234567890.
- Recording: The Recording Status LED is red. Short press the Shutter button to start or stop recording.
- Forced Shutdown: Simultaneously press the Shutter button and the WiFi button.
Connection to Computer
After powering on the camera, connect it to a computer using a USB cable. The camera will be recognized as a removable disc. If the computer does not recognize the camera, ensure a microSD card is properly inserted. If the microSD card data cannot be read, try a different micro USB cable or USB port.
App Usage
To connect to the camera via the RunCam App:
- After powering on, press the WiFi Button. The WiFi LED will blink blue, indicating it's ready for connection.
- On your smartphone's wireless network settings, find the camera's SSID (RCSC4K******) and connect using the password '1234567890'. The WiFi LED will turn solid blue upon successful connection.
Notice: In low-light conditions, you can adjust the exposure settings via the camera menu in the app to improve image quality or prevent overexposure.

Firmware Upgrade
To ensure optimal performance and access the latest features, keep your camera's firmware updated. The WiFi LED will blink blue during the upgrade process.
Requirements: Ensure the camera's battery is above 50% before starting the upgrade.
Manual Upgrade: Copy the firmware file (RCSC4K.BRN) onto the microSD card. Follow the instructions provided at https://runcam.com/download/scopecam4k.
Firmware can also be updated using the RunCam App or by downloading from https://runcam.com/download/scopecam4k.
