Installation and Setup
Powering the Feeder
- Use a 5V 1A standard power adapter and connect the included 1.5m anti-bite TYPE-C power cord.
- Alternatively, install 4 AA batteries in the battery compartment to ensure normal operation during power outages.
Assembly
- Insert the bowl holder and the feeding bowl into the designated buckle points.
App Control (Smart & Cute Versions)
Connecting to the App
- Download the "Smart Pakeway" App from your app store.
- Register an account and log in.
- Open the top lid and pour the appropriate amount of pet food into the food barrel.
- Place desiccant (e.g., dry bag, star anise, garlic) into the anti-moisture box. To open the lid, rotate it clockwise.
- Long press the round button for over 5 seconds until you hear a beep. The indicator light will flash white rapidly, indicating WIFI pairing mode.
- Open the "Smart Pakeway" App, tap the "+" icon in the upper right corner to add a device. Select "Automatic Discovery" and then "Pakeway Pet Feeder".
- Tap "Next", select your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network, and enter the password.
- Wait for the connection progress bar to complete.
- Once connected, you can customize the name of your pet feeder.
App Interface Overview
- Avatar: Long press to remove the device; tap to enter the feeding operation settings.
- Feeder Name: Customize the name, share the device, etc. (pencil icon).
- Settings: Configure reminder cycles, custom reminders, and factory reset (gear icon).
- Lack of Food: Indicates low food levels in the barrel.
- Fed Weight: Displays the weight of food dispensed today (e.g., approx. 180 grams).
Feeding Schedule
- Tap "Feeding Plan" then "Add" to set up regular feeding times.
- Period Setting: Daily, Working days, Weekend.
- Number of Meals: 1-16 servings per meal. Up to 10 feeding plans can be set.
- You can edit or delete existing feeding plans by tapping or swiping left on them.
Feeding Options
- Fast Feeding: Dispenses one serving of food.
- Manual Feeding: Set manual feeding for 1-12 servings.
- Unit Conversion: Display fed weight in cups, ounces, servings, or grams.
Status Indicators
- Pet Food Surplus: Prompts "Insufficient" when food needs refilling.
- Battery Level: "0%" indicates the battery is depleted. "Power Supply" indicates it's using the TYPE-C power cord.
- Failure Log: View the number and reasons for past failures.
- Feeding Log: Review recent feeding records and a 7-day feeding statistics chart.
Button and Indicator Functions
Button Functions
- Smart/Cute Version: Double-click the round button to dispense one serving. Long press for 5 seconds to enter WIFI pairing mode.
- Timed Version: Feed Button - Single click dispenses one serving; double click dispenses two, and so on.
Indicator Functions
- Smart/Cute Version: Red light flashing indicates food jam. Yellow light flashing indicates low battery. Green light solid indicates normal operation. White light flashing indicates WIFI pairing mode. White light solid indicates successful WIFI connection. Indicator off indicates failed WIFI connection.
- Timed Version: Red light solid indicates food jam. Yellow light flashing indicates low food levels.
Note: If WIFI connection fails, long press the round button for over 5 seconds to re-enter network configuration.
Timed Feeding Setting (Manual Operation)
- Long press the "Unlock Button" for over 5 seconds until a beep is heard, entering setting mode.
- Press the "Settings Button" to enter time setting. The "Hour Number" will flash. Use "+" and "-" buttons to set the current hour, then minutes.
- Press "Settings Button" again to enter meal count setting. "MEAL" will flash. Use "+" and "-" to adjust the number of meals per day (up to 4).
- Press "Settings Button" to set the first meal's dispensing time. "Hour Number" and "Food Symbol" will flash. Use "+" and "-" to set the hour, then press "Settings Button" again to set the minutes.
- Press "Settings Button" to set the first meal's serving size. "Food Symbol" and "Digital Symbol" will flash. Use "+" and "-" to set the number of servings. Repeat for remaining meals.
- A beep indicates the setup is complete.
Display Screen Icons
- Lock: Indicates the device is locked.
- Jam: Indicates food jam.
- No Battery/Low Battery: Indicates battery status.
- USB Power: Indicates the device is powered by USB.
- Battery Power: Indicates the device is powered by batteries.
- Meal: Indicates the number of meals set.
- Meal Size: Indicates the serving size for each meal.
Cautions
- The feeder only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi with password protection.
- Recommended pet food size: 5-12mm diameter. Do not use freeze-dried or wet food.
- Place the feeder in a corner or against a wall to prevent tipping.
- Regularly replace desiccant in the anti-moisture box.
- Ensure the food barrel is dry and sealed. Handle damp or spoiled food promptly.
- Clean the feeding bowl regularly. Dry it before placing it back.
- Do not put anything other than pet food into the food barrel.
- Conceal the power cord to prevent pets from damaging it.
- After a long power outage, you may need to reset the time and feeding schedule.
- Not recommended for pets under three months old.
- Children should not use the device unsupervised.
- Use a standard power socket and ensure voltage compatibility.
- Do not pull the power cord forcefully. Stop use if damaged.
- Avoid heavy impacts on the feeder.
- Failure to follow warnings may result in consequences for which the user is responsible.
Cleaning and Recycling
- Do not immerse the feeder in water or liquids.
- Clean with a dry rag or a mild, pet-safe detergent. Dry the food barrel thoroughly after cleaning.
- Dispose of the product according to local electronic waste recycling regulations.
- Dispose of batteries at designated recycling points.
Questions & Answers
- Q: Feeder has no response after powering on (indicator light off, no operation)?
- A: Check power cord connection, power adapter integrity, and power socket. Try reconnecting with a standard 5V 1A adapter and the TYPE-C cable, or use 4 AA batteries.
- Q: WIFI connection unsuccessful for Smart/Cute versions?
- A: Ensure you are using a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network with password protection. Reconnect to a 2.4GHz network.
- Q: Feeder indicates food jam?
- A: Red indicator light flashes (timed version) or is solid (Smart/Cute version), with beeps or app notification. Clear the food outlet and internal mechanism.
- Q: App prompts for low food?
- A: Please replenish food promptly.
- Q: Feeder fails to dispense food?
- A: Check for food in the barrel, ensure paddles are secure and the barrel is properly aligned. Use 5-12mm dry pet food. Avoid damp or crushed food. If too many servings are set, reduce the quantity or wait for the pet to consume existing food. Clean any food residue from the dispensing area.
