IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

WARNING! It is hazardous for anyone other than authorized service personnel to carry out servicing or repairs which involves the removal of covers. To avoid the risk of an electric shock do not attempt to repair this appliance yourself.

WARNING! Risk of fire / flammable materials.

When using electric appliances, basic safety precautions should always be adhered to, including the following:

• Read all instructions carefully and retain them for future reference.
• Containers with flammable gases or liquids can leak at low temperatures.
• Do not store any containers with flammable materials, such as spray cans, fire extinguisher refill cartridges etc., inside the appliance.
• Do not place carbonated or fizzy drinks in the Freezer compartment. Ice lollies can cause "Frost/Freeze burns" if consumed directly from the Freezer.
• Do not remove items from the Freezer compartment with damp/wet hands, as this could cause skin abrasions or "Frost/Freezer burns". Bottles and cans must not be placed in the Freezer compartment as they can burst when the contents freeze.
• Manufacturer's recommended storage times should be adhered to. Refer to relevant instructions.
• Do not allow children to tamper with the controls or play with the Freezer.
• The Freezer is heavy. Care should be taken when moving it. It is dangerous to alter the specification or attempt to modify this product in any way.
• Do not store inflammable gases or liquids inside your Freezer.
• Do not store explosive substances such as aerosol cans with a flammable propellant in this appliance.
• If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid a hazard.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
• This refrigerating appliance is not intended to be used as a built-in appliance.
• This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
  • Staff kitchen areas in shops, offices, and other working environments
  • Farmhouses and by clients in hotels, motels, and other residential type environments
  • Bed and breakfast type environments
  • Catering and similar non-retail applications
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

WARNING

• Keep ventilation openings, in the appliance enclosure or in the built-in structure, free of obstruction.
• Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting process, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.
• Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.
• Do not use electrical appliances inside the food storage compartments of the appliance, unless recommended by the manufacturer.
• Refrigerating appliances - particularly a refrigerator-freezer Type I - might not operate consistently (possibility of contents defrosting or temperature becoming too warm in the frozen food compartment) when sited for an extended period of time below the cold end of the range of temperatures for which the refrigerating appliance is designed.
• For doors or lids fitted with locks and keys - keep keys away from children's reach to prevent children from being locked inside.
• The refrigerant used in your appliance and insulation materials requires special disposal procedures.
• When positioning the appliance, ensure the power cord is not trapped or damaged.
• Do not place multiple portable socket-outlets or portable power supplies at the rear of the appliance.
• The following instructions will avoid the risk of food contamination:
  • Do not open the door for long periods to avoid a significant increase of the temperature in the compartments of the appliance.
  • Clean surfaces that come in contact with food and accessible drainage systems regularly.
  • Clean water tanks if they have not been used for 48 hours; flush the water system connected to a water supply if water has not been drawn for 5 days.
  • Store raw meat and fish in containers in the refrigerator to avoid contact or onto other foods.
  • Two-star frozen-food compartments are suitable for storing pre-frozen food, storing or making ice-cream and making ice cubes.
  • One-, two- and three-star compartments are not suitable for the freezing of fresh foods.
  • If the refrigerating appliance is left empty for long periods, switch off, defrost, clean, dry, and leave the door open to prevent mould developing within the appliance.

POWER CONNECTION

WARNING

• The power cord of this appliance is equipped with a power plug which mates with the standard power supply outlets to minimize the possibility of electrical shock.
• Before connecting to the power supply, ensure that the unit is grounded and its voltage corresponds to the voltage indicated on the power supply rating plate.
• This appliance requires a standard 220-240VAC 50/60Hz electrical outlet with grounding.
• This appliance is not designed to be used with an inverter.
• It is recommended to secure the power cord behind the appliance, and not left exposed or dangling to prevent accidental injury.
• Never unplug the refrigerator by pulling on the power cord. Always grip the plug firmly and pull directly from the power supply outlet.
• Do not use a power extension cord with this appliance. If the power cord is too short, have a qualified electrician or service technician install an outlet near the appliance. The use of a power extension cord can negatively affect the performance of the unit.
• Improper use of the grounded plug can result in the risk of electrical shock. If the power cord is damaged, have it replaced by an authorized service center.

CLIMATE RANGE

The information about the climate range of the appliance is provided on the power supply rating plate. It indicates at which ambient temperature (that is, room temperature, in which the appliance is working) the operation of the appliance is optimal.

NOTE: Given the limit values of the ambient temperature range for the climate classes for which the refrigerating appliance is designed and the fact that the internal temperatures could be affected by such factors as location of the refrigerating appliance, ambient temperature and the frequency of door opening, the setting of any temperature control device might have to be varied to allow for these factors, if appropriate.

NOTE: When operating in an environment other than the specified climate type (example: beyond the rated ambient temperature range), the appliance may not be able to maintain the desirable compartment temperatures.

LOCKS

If the appliance is fitted with a lock, keep the key out of reach and not in the vicinity of the appliance to prevent children being entrapped. When disposing of an old refrigerator, break off any old locks or latches as a safeguard.

FREON-FREE

• The freon-free refrigerant (R600a) and the foaming insulation material (cyclopentane) that is environmentally friendly are used for the refrigerator, causing no damage to the ozone layer and having a very small impact on the global warming.
• R600a is flammable, and sealed in a refrigeration system, without leakage during normal operation.
• In any event of a refrigerant leakage due to refrigerant circuit damage, keep the appliance away from open flames and open the windows for ventilation as quickly as possible.

PARTS IDENTIFICATION

The refrigerator is a two-door unit with a freezer compartment located at the top and a refrigerator compartment below. The following parts are identified:

PREPARATIONS FOR USE

INSTALLATION LOCATION

VENTILATION

• Install the appliance in a well-ventilated area and has less hot air.
• Do not locate the refrigerator near a heat source such as cooker, boiler, and avoid it from direct sunlight, thus guaranteeing the refrigeration effect while saving energy consumption.
• Do not locate the refrigerator in a damp place, so as to prevent rust and electricity leakage.
• The result of the refrigerant charge amount of the refrigerator being divided by the total space of the room in which the refrigerator is installed shall be less than 8g / m³.

NOTE: The amount of refrigerant charged for the refrigerator can be found on the name plate.

HEAT DISSIPATION SPACE

The appliance emits heat during operation. Therefore, ensure at least 30mm of free space at the top, over 100mm on both sides, and above 50mm at the rear of the appliance.

NOTE: Figures 1 & 2 show schematic diagrams illustrating the required space for product installation and ventilation.

LEVEL SURFACE

• Always place the appliance on a solid and flat ground (floor) to keep it stable to prevent vibration and noise.
• When placed on flooring materials such as carpet, straw mat, polyvinyl chloride, the appliance's solid backing plates should be applied underneath the refrigerator, so as to prevent color change due to heat dissipation.

Ensure unobstructed ventilation around the appliance or in an embedded structure.

STANDING TIME

Do not power on the appliance immediately after installation. Allow one (1) hour of standing time to ensure optimal operation.

CLEANING

Clean all accessory parts inside the appliance and wipe the interior with a soft cloth.

POWER ON

• Insert power plug into the power supply outlet to start the compressor.
• After 1 hour, open the freezer door; if the temperature inside the freezer compartment drops obviously, it indicates that the refrigeration system is working properly.

FOOD STORAGE

• After a period of operation, the appliance's internal temperature will be automatically controlled according to the user's temperature setting.
• After the refrigerator is fully cooled, place foods, which usually need 2 to 3 hours to be fully cooled. In hotter climates, it may take over 4 hours for the foods to be fully cooled. (Try not to open the refrigerator door too frequently before the internal temperature cools down).
• If the refrigerator is installed in a damp place, ensure that the ground wire and leakage circuit breaker are normal.
• Vibrations and noises are often produced by the refrigerator contacting the wall.
• If the wall gets blackened by air convection around the compressor, move the appliance away from the wall.
• Setting up the refrigerator may cause jamming noise or affect mobile phone, fixed-line telephone, radio receiver, and television surrounding it. Try to keep the refrigerator as far away as possible in such a case.

FUNCTIONS

The internal temperature of the refrigerator is controlled by a potentiometer installed in the fresh food compartment. Its internal temperature varies with the door opening frequency, ambient temperature and installation location of the refrigerator.

When the refrigerator is connected to the power supply for the first time, all indicators on the display screen will be displayed for 2 seconds, and will operate at Mode 3 after that by default.

TEMPERATURE SETTING

Press the "SET" key to adjust the temperature. If there is no key operation within 5-secs after setting the desired temperature, the appliance will operate at this mode.

The temperature mode cycles are in the following sequence: "3 – 2 – 1 - Fast Cool – 5 – 4 - 3".

“FAST COOL”

Under the “Fast Cool” mode, the fridge temperature cools down and drops quickly to ensure stored foods are fresh without nutrient loss. The “fast cool” mode operates for at most 30 hours after the setting, after which, it will terminate automatically, and the temperature will be restored to the setting before the Fast Cool function is enabled.

DOOR OPEN ALARM

If the fridge door is open for more than 3 minutes, the buzzer will sound continuously. Press the set key to stop the alarm. However, the buzzer will be restored after 3 minutes if the door is kept open. The alarm will be lifted when the door is closed.

POWER CUT MEMORY

This function will enable the appliance to maintain its operation state before the power failure when power supply is restored.

POWER-ON DELAY

This function protects the compressor from damage in the event of a short power outage of less than 5 minutes. The compressor will not start immediately after it is powered on.

FAULT ALARM

When the indicator light of Mode 5 or Mode3 or Mode 1 keeps flashing, it indicates fault with the appliance. Contact your authorized service agent.

TIPS:

• When the ambient temperature in the appliance is higher than 35°C, do not select the coldest fridge and freezer setting as this will affect the normal refrigeration function.
• Also, do not select the coldest fridge setting nor adjust the freezer thermostat knob switch to the leftmost position to avoid the undercooling the refrigerator compartment.
• If the refrigerator temperature is not cool or undercooled, select the centre mode and adjust the freezer thermostat knob switch to the centre position.

NOTE: Ice may form in the freezer compartment and cause the thermostat knob to be frozen due to high humidity or frequent door opening. As such, do not forcibly adjust the thermostat knob switch. Instead, use a hot towel to thaw the switch to avoid damaging it.

FOOD STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE

• The appliance might not operate consistently (possibility of defrosting or temperature becoming too warm in the frozen food compartment) when sited for an extended period of time below the cold limit of the temperature range which the refrigerating appliance is designed for.
• Refer to the climate information on the rating plate.
• Factors affecting internal temperature include appliance location, ambient temperature, and frequency of door open, etc., and if appropriate, a warning that setting of any temperature control device might have to be varied to allow for these factors should be made.
• Do not store effervescent drinks in the freezer compartment or in the low-temperature compartment. Never consume products that are extremely cold, such as water ice lollies.

FOOD STORAGE LOCATION

• Cold air is circulated differently in various areas of the appliance, making the temperature of each area in the refrigerator different. As such, different foods should be placed in different areas.
• The fresh food compartment is suitable for storing non-frozen foods such as cooked foods, drinks, eggs, some condiments that need cold preservation, milk, fruit juice, and etc.
• The crisper box is suitable for storing vegetables, fruits, etc.
• The freezer compartment is suitable for storing ice cream, frozen food and the foods to be preserved for longer durations.

FRESH FOOD COMPARTMENT

• Set the fresh food storage compartment temperature between 2°C ~ 8°C, and store foods intended for short-term storage, or to be eaten at any time in the fresh food compartment.
• Fridge shelf: To remove the shelf, lift it up and then pull it out; and when installing the shelf, place it into position before putting it down. (For the two-section shelf, push the first section to the rear end, and then pull the second section out).
• Keep the shelf rear flange upward, to prevent foods from contact the liner wall. When taking out or putting in the shelf, hold it firmly, and handle with care to avoid damage.
• Crisper box: Detach the crisper box for access to food. After using or cleaning the cover plate of the crisper box, be sure to put it back onto the crisper, so that the internal temperature of the crisper box will not be affected.

USING THE CRISPER BOX'S HUMIDITY REGULATING ROD

• The humidity regulating rod is used to preserve moisture inside the crisper box, and to keep fresh the vegetables and fruits stored inside.
• Adjusting the humidity regulating rod to the right side will expose more holes. This will maintain the internal moisture of the crisper box to the low level.
• Adjusting the humidity regulating rod to the left side will expose less holes. This will maintain the internal humidity of the crisper box to the high level.

USING THE ICE MAKING BOX

Place the ice-making box in the topmost position of the freezer compartment, so that it ices up as soon as possible.

CAUTIONS FOR FOOD STORAGE

• Clean all foods and wipe them dry before storing. It is advisable to seal them up to prevent water evaporation, and to keep fruits and vegetables fresh and odor-free.
• Do not place too many or heavy foods inside. Ensure adequate space between foods. If too close, cold air flow will be obstructed, which will affect refrigeration. Weighty foods, on the other hand, may damage the shelf. When storing foods, place them away from the inner wall; and do not place water-rich foods too close to the rear wall, to avoid them from getting frozen to the inner wall.
• Store foods by category. Place foods to be consumed every day at the front of the shelf, so that the door opening duration can be shortened and to avoid food spoilage due to expiration.
• Energy-saving tips: Allow hot food cool down to the room temperature before putting it in the refrigerator. Put frozen food in the fresh food compartment to thaw, using the low temperature of the frozen food to cool the fresh food, thus saving energy.

USING THE FROZEN FOOD STORAGE COMPARTMENT

As the freezer temperature is controlled below -18 °C, it is advisable to store food for long-term preservation in the freezer compartment, but pay special attention to the storage duration indicated on the food packaging.

• The freezer drawers are used to store food that needs to be frozen.
• Fish and meat of large block size should be cut into small pieces and packed into fresh-keeping bags before they are evenly distributed inside the freezer drawers. Notes:
• Allow the hot foods to cool down to the room temperature before putting them in the freezer compartment.
• Do not put a glass container with liquids or canned liquid in the freezer compartment to prevent explosion due to volume expansion after the liquid is freezed.
• Divide the food into appropriately small portions
• Pack food before freezing. Ensure packing bag is dry and covered by materials that are firm, tasteless, air and water-proof, non-toxic and pollution-free, to avoid cross-contamination and odor-transfer.

TIPS FOR SHOPPING THE FROZEN FOODS

• Look at the packaging's Storage Guidelines when buying frozen food and store each frozen item or the period shown according to the star rating - usually the period stated as "Best to use them before xxx" stated on the front of the packaging.
• Check the temperature of the frozen food cabinet in the shop where the frozen food is purchased.
• Ensure the frozen food package is in perfect condition.
• Always buy frozen products last on your shopping trip or visit to the supermarket.

USING THE ICE MAKING BOX

• Try to keep frozen food together whilst shopping and on the journey home, as this will help to keep the food cooler.
• Don't buy frozen food unless you can freeze it straight away. Use insulated or cooler bags to keep the frozen foods cold longer.
• For some foods, thawing before cooking is unnecessary. Vegetables and pasta can be added directly to boiling water or steam cooked. Frozen sauces and soups can be put into a saucepan and heated gently until thawed.
• Buy quality food. When foods are frozen in small quantities, it will take less than for them to freeze up and thaw.
• Estimate the food amounts to freeze. When freezing large quantity of fresh foods, set the temperature control knob to low to keep foods fresher and extend their shelf-lives.

TIPS FOR SPECIAL NEEDS

MOVING THE APPLIANCE

Location

• Do not place your refrigerator/freezer near heat sources: cooker, boiler or radiator. Avoid direct sunlight in out-buildings or sun lounges.

Leveling

• Level the appliance using the front leveling feet. If not levelled, the door gasket's sealing performance will be affected, or may even lead to the operating failure of the appliance.

Standing time

• After selection the appliance's location, wait 4 hours before powering it on to allow the refrigerant to settle.

Installation

• Do not cover or block the vents or grilles of your appliance.

WHEN NOT IN USE

• When not in use for several months, power off the appliance, and then disconnect power plug from the power supply outlet.
• Remove all foods. Clean and dry the interior thoroughly.
• To prevent odor and mold growth, leave the door ajar: block it open or have the door removed if necessary.
• Store the cleaned appliance in a dry, ventilated place and away from the heat source, place the appliance smoothly. Do not place heavy objects on top of it.
• The unit should not be accessible to child's play.

CARE & CLEANING

• We recommend that you switch off the freezer at the power supply and detach the power plug before cleaning.
• Never use sharp abrasive instruments, soap, household cleaners, detergent, and wax polish for cleaning.
• Use only lukewarm water to clean the freezer cabinet and wipe dry.
• Use a damp cloth wrung out in a solution of one teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda to one pint of water to clean the interior and wipe it dry.
• Remove excess ice deposits regularly, using a plastic ice scraper. Large accumulation of ice will impair the freezer's performance.
• Switch the appliance off if it is not going to be used for a long period of time. Remove all food, clean, and leave the lid ajar.
• Inspect lid seals regularly to ensure they are clean and free from food particles.
• Do not wash the compressor with water. Wipe with a clean cloth and allow to dry.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

• Try to open the refrigerator door as less as possible to keep foods fresh and safe for the longest durations.
• In the event of an advanced power outage notice:
  • 1. Adjust the thermostat knob to high mode an hour in advance, so that foods get fully frozen (Do not store new foods during this time).
  • 2. Restore the temperature mode to the original setting when power supply becomes normal in a timely manner.
  • 3. Make ice with a watertight container and place it in the topmost part of the freezer to extend the fresh food's storage time.

NOTE: Keep the appliance in operation continuously to ensure optimal service life.

DEFROSTING

There is no need to defrost this appliance manually as it is designed with an automatic defrosting function.

CHANGING THE LAMP

The LED lamp is used by the refrigerator for lighting, which features low energy consumption and long service life. Contact your authorized service for lamp replacement.

SAFETY-CHECK AFTER MAINTENANCE

• Is the power cord broken or damaged?
• Is the power plug firmly inserted into the socket?
• Is the power plug abnormally overheated?

TROUBLESHOOTING

This troubleshooting guide is designed to help you identify and address the problem yourself as not every fault needs to be fixed by the technical service personnel.

Note: If the above troubleshooting guides are inapplicable, do not disassemble and repair it yourself. Repairs carried out by inexperienced persons may cause injury or serious malfunctioning. Contact the manufacturer or an authorized service agent for inspection and repairs. This appliance MUST be serviced by an authorized service personnel and only genuine spare parts should be used.

When the appliance is not in use for long periods, disconnect from the power supply, empty all foods and clean the appliance. Leave the door ajar to prevent odors.

CERTIFICATIONS

ELECTRICAL INFORMATION

• This electrical appliance must be grounded.
• This product is equipped with a plug, which is suitable for all houses equipped with sockets meeting the current specifications.
• If the fitted plug is not suitable for your socket outlets, it should be cut off and carefully disposed of. To avoid a possible shock hazard, do not insert the discarded plug into a socket.

This product complies the EEC directives.

DISPOSAL

• Old appliances still have some surplus value. An environmentally friendly approach will ensure that valuable raw materials are recycled.
• The refrigerants used in your equipment and insulation materials require special handling procedures. Make sure there is no pipe damage on the back of the equipment before handling.
• Up-to-date information on the options for disposing of old equipment and packaging from old equipment can be obtained from the local municipal office.

CORRECT DISPOSAL OF THIS PRODUCT

This marking indicates that this product should not be disposed with other household wastes throughout the EU. To prevent possible harm to the environment or human health from uncontrolled waste disposal, recycle it responsibly to promote the sustainable reuse of material resources. To return your used device, please use the return and collection systems or contact the retailer where the product was purchased. They can take this product for environmental safe recycling.

Warnings for disposal

• Refrigerant and cyclopentane foaming material used for the refrigerator are flammable. Therefore, when the refrigerator is scrapped, it shall be kept away from any fire source and be recovered by a special recovering company with corresponding qualification other than be disposed by combustion, so as to prevent damage to the environment or any other harm.
• When the refrigerator is scrapped, disassemble the doors, and remove gasket of door and shelves; put the doors and shelves in a proper place, so as to prevent trapping of any child.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR REVERSING THE DOOR

1. Ensure to disconnect the refrigerator from the power supply outlet.
2. Pry the hinge cover up and off, remove the three screws that secure the upper hinge to the door, then remove the hinge.
3. Remove the freezer compartment door from the cabinet.
4. Remove the two screws that secure the center hinge.
5. Remove the freezer compartment door.
6. Remove the screws securing the lower hinge to the right side of the cabinet, then remove the hinge.
7. Remove the washer and nut that secure the pin shaft to the right hole on the lower hinge, then remove the shaft.
8. Insert the pin shaft into the left hole on the lower hinge, then secure the shaft with the washer and nut.
9. Install the lower hinge on the left side of the cabinet.
10. Remove the screw that secures the door stop from the bottom right of the refrigerator compartment door, then remove the door stop and install to the bottom left side.
11. Install the refrigerator compartment door.
12. Move the door bushing from the top right side of the freezer door to the top left side of the door. Then, move the left hole cover to the right side.
13. Remove the center hinge screw hole plug on the left side of the cabinet, then install in the screw holes on the right side of the cabinet.
14. Install the center hinge to the left side with the two screws removed previously.
15. Remove the screw that secures the door stop from the bottom right of the freezer compartment door. Then remove the door stop and install to the bottom left side.
16. Install the Freezer compartment door.
17. Move the door bushing from the top right side of the freezer door to the top left side of the door. And move the left hole cover to the right side.
18. Remove the hole cover from the top left side of the cabinet and secure the cover on the top right side of the cabinet.
19. Secure the upper hinge to the top left side of the cabinet with the three screws removed previously. Before tightening the upper hinge screws, ensure that the top of the door is levelled with the cabinet and that the rubber gasket seals properly.
20. Install the hinge cover over the hinge on the top left side of the cabinet.

NOTE: Ensure the rubber gaskets seal properly with the cabinet all the way around the doors before tightening the hinge screws.
