Important Safety Information

Before using the unit, please read the End User License Agreement (EULA) at https://rd1.sony.net/help/vs/el22/h_zz/. The terms of the agreement also apply to separately sold speakers connected to the unit.

General Precautions:

• Do not install the product in confined spaces like bookcases or built-in cabinets.
• Do not cover ventilation openings to prevent fire hazards.
• Avoid exposing the unit to dripping, splashing, or placing liquid-filled objects on it.
• The unit is connected to the AC power source as long as it is plugged into the wall outlet, even when turned off.
• Install the unit so the power cord can be easily unplugged in case of trouble.
• Do not use the unit on soft surfaces like bedding or blankets.

Remote Commander Precautions:

• Risk of explosion if batteries are replaced with an incorrect type.
• Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.
• Do not expose batteries to excessive heat.

Medical Device Precautions:

• This product contains magnets that may interfere with pacemakers or other medical devices. Consult your doctor before use if you use such devices.

EMC Compliance:

• This unit has been tested and complies with EMC regulations using a connection cable shorter than 3 meters.
• Any unauthorized modifications may void your authority to operate this unit.

Nameplate Location: The nameplate and safety information are located on the bottom of the unit.

Australia/New Zealand Specifics: This product must be operated with at least 20 cm separation between the radiating element and the human body.

Using the Bar Speaker Mounted on a Wall

Wall Mounting Details:

• Distance between screws for wall installation: 876 mm []
• Gap between wall installation screw head and wall: 3.5 mm to 4.5 mm []
• Use the supplied wall mounting bracket [] and screws [].

Notes on Wall Mounting:

• Always use the supplied wall mounting brackets. Do not mount directly on the wall to prevent damage from heat buildup.
• Hang the bar speaker horizontally on a reinforced wall.
• For secure installation, consult a Sony dealer or licensed contractor.
• Sony is not responsible for accidents or damage due to improper installation, instability, misuse, or natural disasters.
• Installation is recommended for at least two people.
• Use screws suitable for your wall material and hardness.
• Fasten screws securely into wall beams.

Precautions

General:

• Ensure the operating voltage matches your local power supply.
• Use only the supplied AC power cord.
• Disconnect the AC power cord from the outlet when not in use for extended periods. Grip the plug when unplugging.
• AC power cord replacement should only be done by qualified service personnel.

Placement:

• Avoid placing the unit near heat sources, direct sunlight, excessive dust, or mechanical shock.
• Be cautious when placing on treated surfaces to avoid staining or discoloration.
• Do not place magnetic cards or metal objects near the unit, as it may affect wireless functions or cause interference.

Care:

• Gently remove dust from fabric parts with a soft cloth. Avoid scratching or applying excessive force.
• For heavy soiling, use a soft cloth lightly dampened with a neutral detergent, then dry with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Wipe the cabinet with a soft cloth dampened with a mild detergent. Do not use abrasive pads or solvents like alcohol or benzene.

BLUETOOTH® Communications:

• Microwaves from BLUETOOTH devices may affect medical devices. Turn off the unit and other BLUETOOTH devices in hospitals, near priority seating on trains, areas with flammable gas, automatic doors, or fire alarms.

Transferring/Disposing:

• Reset the unit to delete private information before transferring or disposing. Refer to the Help Guide for resetting instructions.

Other Notes:

• Ensure adequate ventilation to prevent heat buildup.
• If solid objects or liquids enter the unit, unplug it and have it checked by qualified personnel.
• When connecting to the Internet, use a router. Consult your network provider if unsure about router functionality.
• For issues not covered in this manual, consult your nearest Sony dealer.
