- Zeolith drying automatically helps save energy.
Zeolith Drying
The appliance features a Zeolith container that stores moisture and energy. During drying, heat is released and blown out with dry air, speeding up and improving drying. This is very efficient.
? Note: To avoid impairing Zeolith drying, do not position dishware parts directly in front of the intake or blow openings of the Zeolith container. Do not position heat-sensitive dishware directly in front of the blow opening.
AquaSensor
The AquaSensor is an optical measuring device that measures washing water turbidity, saving water. It adjusts washing based on soiling levels, reducing water consumption. In Auto cycles, temperature and run time are also adjusted.
Sensors
Sensors adjust cycle sequence and strength in Auto cycles based on soiling. Different sensitivity levels can be changed in basic settings.
Sensor setting | Description |
---|---|
SE:00 | Optimal setting for mixed loads and heavily soiled dishware. Saves energy and water. |
SE:01 | Adjusts cycle strength for effective food remnant removal, even with low soiling. Energy and water consumption are adjusted accordingly. |
SE:02 | Adjusts cycle strength for difficult conditions (e.g., stubborn dried-on food remnants). Recommended for organic/ecological detergents with low active agents. Energy and water consumption are adjusted accordingly. |

Before Using for the First Time
Initial Use
Before first use or after a factory reset, configure settings. Connect to a mobile device via the Home Connect® app for convenient setting changes.
Requirements: Appliance installed and connected.
- Add rinse aid.
- Switch on the appliance.
- Set the amount of rinse aid.
- Add detergent.
- Start the program with the highest cleaning temperature without dishware to remove any marks from water or residues.
? Tip: Settings can be changed at any time.
Rinse Aid System
Rinse Aid
Use rinse aid for optimum drying results. Only use rinse aid intended for household dishwashers.
Adding Rinse Aid
If the rinse aid refill indicator lights up, fill the dispenser. Only use rinse aid intended for household dishwashers.
- Press the catch on the lid of the rinse aid dispenser and lift.
- Add rinse aid up to the max mark.
- If rinse aid spills, remove it from the tub, as it can cause excessive frothing.
- Close the lid of the dispenser; it will click into position.
Setting the Amount of Rinse Aid
Adjust the amount if there are streaks or water spots on dishware.
- Press ON/OFF.
- Press button 'A' for 3 seconds to open basic settings.
- Press 'A' repeatedly until the display shows 'r:05' (factory setting).
- Press 'Start' repeatedly until the desired amount of rinse aid is set. A lower setting reduces streaking; a higher setting reduces water spots and improves drying.
- Press 'A' for 3 seconds to store settings.
Switching the Rinse Aid System Off
If you do not wish to use rinse aid:
- Press ON/OFF.
- Press 'A' for 3 seconds to open basic settings.
- Press 'A' repeatedly until the display shows 'r:05'.
- Press 'Start' repeatedly until the display shows 'r:00'.
- Press 'A' for 3 seconds to store settings. The rinse aid system is now off, and the refill indicator is deactivated.
? Tip: Combination detergents may have limited rinse aid effectiveness; separate rinse aid often yields better results.
Detergent
The Correct Detergents
Use only detergents made for dishwashers (basic or combination). For best results, use a separate detergent and rinse aid. Modern detergents use low-alkaline formulations with enzymes. Oxygen-based bleaches remove colored stains.
? Note: Follow manufacturer's instructions for each detergent.
Detergent | Description |
---|---|
Tabs | Ideal for all functions, no measuring required. May not dissolve fully in shorter cycles, leaving residues. |
Powder detergent | Recommended for shorter cycles. Dosage adjustable by soiling level. |
Liquid detergent | Works faster, recommended for shorter cycles without pre-rinse. May leak slightly if dispenser is closed; this is normal. Do not use with Delay Start option. Dosage adjustable by soiling level. |
Incompatible Detergents
- Do not use detergents not designated for dishwasher use or containing chlorine.
- Liquid hand soap can cause frothing and damage.
- Detergent containing chlorine may leave residue.
Information on Detergent
- Follow detergent instructions.
- Ecological detergents may have lower active agents, potentially reducing cleaning effectiveness.
- Adjust rinse aid and water softening settings according to detergent used.
- Combination detergents' rinse aid component has limited effectiveness.
- Handle water-soluble pouches with dry hands and place them in a dry dispenser.
- Wash cycles run properly with combination detergents even if indicators light up.
- Use tablets for enhanced drying results.
Adding Detergent
- Open the detergent dispenser by pressing the locking latch.
- Add detergent to the dry dispenser. For tablets, insert one horizontally. For powder/liquid, follow manufacturer's dosage instructions (1.5-1.75 Tbsp or 20-25 ml is typical for normal soiling).
- Close the lid; it will click into position. The dispenser opens automatically during the cycle.
? Note: To ensure even tablet dissolution, do not place other objects in the tablet collecting tray.
Detergent Table
Detergent amount guidelines:
Cycle | Detergent Amount |
---|---|
Auto | 1.75 Tbsp (25 ml) or 1 tab |
Normal | 1.75 Tbsp (25 ml) or 1 tab |
Heavy | 3 Tbsp (45 ml) or 1 tab |
Speed 60® | 1 Tbsp (15 ml) |
? Note: Optimal cleaning is achieved without prewash detergent.
