Notifications
The system provides feedback upon alarm trigger. Upon disarm, it beeps 4x and flashes the LED to indicate the trigger zone (Shock, Trunk/Hood, or Door).
Factory Keyless Upgrade
The APS596Z can function as a Factory Keyless Alarm Upgrade. Arm/Disarm inputs connect to the vehicle's door lock motors. Polarity detection is automatic or can be manually configured. The Trunk Shunt input is used for vehicles with factory power trunk/hatch release and also supports automatic or manual polarity configuration.
Remote Programming
The system includes two programmed remotes. Additional remotes can be programmed via Feature Bank 1. To enter auto-programming:
- Turn ignition key to ON.
- Press and release the valet button three times. System beeps and flashes parking lights once.
- Press the lock button on each remote. System beeps once per programmed remote.
Note: For 2-Way remotes, wait for the remote beep before programming the next.
Feature Programming
Features can be programmed using the valet button and an OEM or Prestige remote. To enter Feature Bank programming:
- Turn ignition key to ON.
- Press and release the valet button three times (Feature Bank 1, Remote Programming).
- Cycle ignition key OFF/ON (Feature Bank 2).
- Press valet button to cycle features (LED flashes feature number).
- Press lock button to cycle options (System beeps option number).
Chirp Delete: Toggle system ARM/DISARM chirps ON/OFF by turning ignition ON/OFF, then pressing and releasing the valet button three times. The system will chirp once for ON, twice for OFF.
User Programmable LED: Turn system LED notifications ON/OFF by turning ignition ON/OFF twice, then pressing and holding the valet button for five seconds. LED flashes once for ON, twice for OFF.
Shock Sensor Adjustment
Mount the shock sensor to a solid surface in the center of the vehicle. Adjust sensitivity by turning the dial clockwise (increase) or counter-clockwise (decrease). Test by striking the vehicle and adjusting for optimal coverage.
Dome Delay Programming
This feature ignores the vehicle's theater dimming dome light when connecting the door trigger input to the dome light circuit. Ensure vehicle windows are open.
- With doors closed and dome light off, press Lock, Unlock, Lock, Unlock, Lock, Unlock, Lock. LED lights solid.
- Open and close the driver door. The system monitors the dome light circuit and sets the delay time plus an additional two seconds when the dome light turns off.
Dome Delay Reset: Turn ignition ON/OFF three times, then press and hold the valet button for five seconds. System beeps once to confirm reset.
Data Protocol Selection
The default data port protocol is ADS (iDatalink 2-Way). The system can auto-detect ADS or DBI. To initialize detection:
- Press and hold the valet button.
- Cycle the vehicle's ignition ON/OFF twice.
- Release the valet button.
The system automatically detects and sets the correct protocol. Alternatively, set Feature Bank 2, Feature 15 to DBI.
Negative Output Control (NOC) & AUX Output Control & PIC Input Control
These features allow for advanced customization of outputs and inputs and are accessible via FlashLogic Weblink or Weblink Mobile. Options include various pulse durations, push & hold, latch ON/OFF for AUX outputs, and specific input configurations for door triggers, hood/trunk triggers, and shock sensors.
Important Update: When flashing FLCAN or other integration modules, select iDatalink 2-Way as the installation method. This module also supports DBI, which requires programming Feature Bank 2, Feature 15 to DBI.
