2 Mount the welding mandrel
The welding mandrel absorbs heat and can prevent warping during installation of the weld-in adapter.
Prerequisites
CAUTION
While welding, the weld-in adapter and mandrel can get extremely hot. To prevent burns, allow the components to cool before disassembling the weld-in adapter and mandrel assembly.
Procedure
1. Hand-tighten the weld-in adapter.
An illustration depicts a hand screwing a weld-in adapter onto a threaded component, with an arrow indicating the direction of rotation.
2. Insert the bolt through mandrel opening.
An illustration shows a bolt being inserted upwards through the central opening of the assembled mandrel components, with an arrow indicating the direction of insertion.
3. Mount the counter plate.
An illustration shows a counter plate being placed onto the top of the assembled mandrel and bolt.
4. Tighten the nut.
An illustration shows a nut being tightened onto the bolt using a wrench. The wrench is shown engaging the nut, and a '16 mm' label indicates the size.
