Power

Remote Control Buttons

Bluetooth Remote Control
When the Bluetooth function is activated, you can enjoy music from your Bluetooth device. The Bluetooth indicator on the receiver lights up when connected.
Front Panel Controls
Power
Press to turn the unit on or set it to standby.

Turn to select the input source. Press to confirm selection.
Volume
Turn to adjust the volume. Press to mute/unmute.

Connections
Connecting the FM Antenna
Connect the supplied FM antenna to the FM ANTENNA jack on the rear panel. Position the antenna for optimal reception.
Connecting Audio/Video Devices
Connect your TV, Blu-ray player, game console, and other devices using HDMI, Optical, or Coaxial cables.

Power Connection
Connect the AC power cord to the AC IN jack on the rear panel and plug it into a wall outlet.
Speaker Connections
Connect speakers to the Front L/R, Center, and Surround L/R terminals on the rear panel using appropriate speaker wire.
Initial Setup
Turning on the Receiver and Setting the Easy Setup
1. Connect the receiver to your TV using an HDMI cable. Ensure the TV is set to the correct HDMI input.
2. Connect the receiver to power and turn it on.
3. The receiver will display an "Easy Setup" menu on your TV screen.
4. Follow the on-screen prompts to select your language, set up speaker configuration (including calibration), and configure network settings if applicable.

Speaker Calibration
The Easy Setup process includes an automatic speaker calibration function (using a connected microphone, not supplied) to optimize sound output based on your room acoustics.
Operation
Playing Back Sound and Visual Devices
1. Turn on your source device (e.g., Blu-ray player, game console).
2. Press the corresponding input button on the remote control (e.g., HDMI 1, BD/DVD) to select the source.
3. Use the playback controls (▶️, ⏸️, ⏹️) on the remote to control playback.
Connecting to a Bluetooth Device
1. Press the BLUETOOTH button on the remote control.
2. On your Bluetooth device (smartphone, tablet), search for available devices and select "STR-DH590".
3. If prompted, enter the pairing code (usually "0000").
4. Once paired, the Bluetooth indicator on the receiver will light up, and you can play audio from your device.

Turning on the Bluetooth function

To cancel Speaker Calibration
During the Easy Setup, you can cancel speaker calibration by pressing the RETURN button.
Reverting to the factory default settings
To reset the receiver to its original factory settings, navigate to the 'System' menu in the setup screen and select 'Factory Reset'. Confirm the action.
Troubleshooting
General
If the unit is not operating correctly, check the following:
