ACELogic IIoT Edge Intelligence
5 SIMPLE STEPS FOR CREATING CUSTOMIZED LOCAL LOGIC APPLICATIONS
The ACELogic tool by Motorola Solutions is a web-based portal offering a user-friendly interface to quickly design, create, and deploy customized local logic applications for automated operations across connected devices, including sensors and actuators managed by the ACE1000 Remote Terminal Unit (RTU).
With ACELogic, users can create IIoT edge intelligence by following "when this happens, do this" logic. For example, "when the water level of a pool reaches a determined threshold, then turn off the water pump." Follow these five simple steps to quickly and easily create a customized local logic application.
1. LOGIN
Access the Front End Processor (FEP) by entering your Username and Password in the provided fields and clicking the 'Login' button. The interface shows input fields for 'Username' and 'Password', and a 'Login' button. A textual prompt indicates: "Enter Username and Password click Login".
2. ADD ENTITY
In the RTU View, select the 'Configuration' tab. Within the 'Entities' section, click the '+' icon ➕ to add a new entity. A modal will appear prompting you to 'Enter Entity name'. For instance, you might name it 'Reservoir'. The interface displays 'RTU View | Site 002' with 'Monitoring' and 'Configuration' tabs. Under 'Configuration', the 'Entities' section shows 'All' and a count of 'Entities (0)'. A '+' icon is prominent. A modal box appears with a dropdown showing 'Reservoir' and a text field for the entity name.
3. ADD STATUS
After selecting or adding an entity (e.g., 'Butterfly Valve'), navigate to the 'Conditions' tab. Click the '+' icon ➕ to add a new state. Configure the 'Type' (e.g., Basic IO), 'State' (e.g., THRESHOLD), and 'Show as' (e.g., Water Level). Enter a descriptive name for the state. The interface shows an example entity 'Butterfly Valve' with 'Conditions' and 'Actions' tabs. A configuration panel shows options for 'Type' (Basic IO), 'State' (Basic IO), 'Show as' (Flag). Another panel shows 'Type' (Basic IO), 'State' (THRESHOLD), 'Show as' (Water Level). Text overlays guide the user: 'Select Basic IO', 'Enter State name'.
4. ADD ACTION
Switch to the 'Actions' tab. Click the '+' icon ➕ to define a new action. Select the 'Type' (e.g., Basic IO) and choose an available action such as 'Open Pump' or 'Close Pump'. Provide a name for this action. The 'Actions' tab is selected, and a '+' icon is present. The configuration panel shows 'Type' (Basic IO), 'Action' options (ON, OFF, Open Pump, Close Pump), and 'Show as'. A text overlay prompts: 'Enter Action name'.
5. ADD RULE
Create a rule by defining a condition in the 'When This Happens' section (e.g., 'Reservoir 1 Water Level is >= 100'). Then, specify the corresponding action in the 'Do this' section (e.g., 'Close Pump'). Click 'OK' to confirm and save the rule. The 'When This Happens' section displays a condition: 'Reservoir 1 Water Level is >= 100'. The 'Do this' section lists actions like 'Open Pump' and 'Close Pump' with a '+' icon. A confirmation modal shows 'Select OK' and 'Cancel' buttons.
