Overview
The Lenovo ThinkAgile VX635 V3 Integrated Systems and Certified Node are 1-socket 1U systems powered by AMD EPYC 9004 "Genoa" processors. These systems offer high performance with up to 96 cores per processor and support for the PCIe 5.0 standard. They leverage VMware's software-defined approach for hyperconvergence, providing compute, storage, and management in a tightly integrated software stack. The systems are available as Integrated Systems (VX635-IS) or Certified Nodes (VX635-CN) and are suitable for SMBs, remote offices, branch offices, desktop virtualization, data analytics, and backup solutions.
Tip: ThinkAgile Integrated System is the new name for ThinkAgile Appliance.

- Supports up to 12 TruDDR5 memory DIMMs per processor, operating at 4800 MHz.
- Supports up to 1.5TB of system memory using 128GB 3DS RDIMMs.
- Supports up to three single-width GPUs, each up to 75W, for substantial processing power in a 1U system.
- Supports up to 12x 2.5-inch hot-swap drive bays, with combinations of front-accessible (up to 10 bays) and rear-accessible (2 bays).

Comparison with the ThinkSystem SR635 V3
The ThinkAgile VX635 V3 Integrated Systems and Certified Node are based on the ThinkSystem SR635 V3 server, with key differences including:
- No onboard SATA controller support
- No SATA HDDs
- Fibre Channel support for data migration only
- InfiniBand adapters only support the Ethernet function
- Drives are categorized as Cache or Capacity drives and are formed as disk groups for OSA configurations.

Configuration notes:
- RAID-1 with M.2 drives requires an additional RAID adapter in PCIe slot 2.
- RAID support for 7mm/M.2 SATA drives requires a RAID 5350-8i adapter (feature BT7N).
- RAID support for 7mm/M.2 NVMe drives requires a RAID 540-8i adapter (feature BT7P).
- The RAID adapter for M.2 drive support cannot be used with other drive bays.
- M.2 RAID and 7mm RAID are mutually exclusive.

7mm Configuration notes:
- 7mm drive bays support SATA or NVMe drives, but not both. Specify SATA or NVMe using feature codes BTTV (SATA) or BTTW (NVMe).
- 7mm rear drive bays occupy slot 3; slots 1 and 2 are available, and slot 2 is a low profile slot. Slot 3 is not available.
- Select feature code BS7A to enable RAID.
- RAID-1 with 7mm drives requires an additional RAID adapter in PCIe slot 2.
- RAID support for 7mm SATA drives requires a RAID 5350-8i adapter (feature BT7N).
- RAID support for 7mm NVMe drives requires a RAID 540-8i adapter (feature BT7P).
- The RAID adapter for 7mm drive support cannot be used with other drive bays.
- M.2 RAID and 7mm RAID are mutually exclusive.

Software
VMware vSAN, vSphere, and vCenter Server software are required for ThinkAgile VX Series Integrated Systems and Certified Nodes. For Integrated Systems, VMware vSAN licenses must be purchased from Lenovo. Customers can transfer licenses. For Certified Nodes, vSAN licenses can be purchased from Lenovo or VMware, or existing licenses can be used. For vSphere and vCenter Server, existing licenses or new purchases from Lenovo or VMware are options.
Lenovo offers various VMware software license and support options for ThinkAgile VX Series systems, including vSAN, vSphere, HCI Kit, Horizon, Cloud Foundation, and vCenter Server licenses and subscriptions.

Configuration notes:
- vSAN license selection is required (Standalone, HCI bundle, VDI solution, or VCF).
- Software licenses include 1, 3, or 5-year support options.
- License quantities are based on processor count, VM requirements, or concurrent user requirements.
ThinkAgile VX Deployer Tool
The ThinkAgile VX Deployer tool is a web-based UI for automating the deployment of Lenovo ThinkAgile VX systems within VMware vSAN clusters. It can install and configure VMware ESXi, VMware vCenter Server, and Lenovo XClarity Integrator.
Warranty and Support
The VX635 V3 system has a 3-year warranty (machine type 7D9V). Integrated Systems can be configured with three- or five-year hardware warranty with 24x7 ThinkAgile Advantage Single Point of Support. Lenovo local support centers handle hardware issues and escalate software issues to VMware.
Standard warranty terms include customer-replaceable unit (CRU) and onsite service with standard call center support during normal business hours and 9x5 Next Business Day Parts Delivered.
Lenovo offers additional support services:
- Premier Support: Direct access to skilled technicians, 24x7x365 remote support, single point of contact, end-to-end case management, online tools, and third-party collaborative support.
- Warranty Upgrade (Preconfigured Support): Options for 3, 4, or 5 years of service coverage, 1- or 2-year post-warranty extensions, Foundation Service (9x5 onsite), Essential Service (24x7 onsite/4-hour response), and Advanced Service (24x7 onsite/2-hour response). YourDrive YourData is optional with Foundation Service and bundled with Essential and Advanced Service.
- Managed Services: Continuous 24x7 remote monitoring and proactive management, with quarterly reviews of system performance and firmware.
- Technical Account Management (TAM): A dedicated TAM assists with optimizing data center operations, expediting service requests, and providing proactive recommendations.
- Enterprise Server Software Support: 24/7 support for critical software issues on Microsoft, Red Hat, SUSE, and VMware applications.
- YourDrive YourData: A multi-drive retention offering that allows customers to retain failed drives.
- Health Check: Regular health checks for Lenovo-branded devices and select third-party products.
Warranty terms may vary by region. Onsite labor is typically for field-replaceable units (FRUs), while customer-replaceable units (CRUs) do not include onsite labor.
