Step 1: Confirm Application Installation
Confirm that the following applications are installed on your computer:
- Epson ScanSmart
- Epson Scan 2
To confirm installation, press the Start key, then look for the [Epson Software] folder > [Epson ScanSmart] under [All Applications], and the [EPSON] folder > [Epson Scan 2]. If both programs are confirmed to be installed, proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Open Epson ScanSmart
Open Epson ScanSmart and confirm that it is connected to your printer.
The Epson ScanSmart interface shows the connected printer, which is the EPSON L4260 Series (USB). You can change the connected printer by clicking the "Change" button.
The scanning area is set to A4 (210 x 297 mm).
To start scanning, click the "Scan" button. You will be prompted to place your original document into the scanner.
You can select the mode by clicking on "<Document Mode>".
Step 3: Access Settings
Click on "Settings" in the upper right corner of the Epson ScanSmart window.
Step 4: Configure Scan Settings
In the Settings window, under the "Scan Settings" section, select "Custom Settings" for "Document Mode". If you want to set the scan resolution for photos, choose "Photo Mode" instead.
The "Automatic Mode" uses the best settings to determine the original type (document or photo) and color.
There is also a "Reset" button available.
Step 5: Adjust Resolution in Epson Scan 2
In the Epson Scan 2 window, adjust the resolution settings and click "Save".
The selected resolution setting will be applied whether you scan from the control panel or the computer.
The Epson Scan 2 interface allows you to configure various settings:
- Scanner: EPSON L4260 Series (USB)
- Scan Settings: Not Specified
- Main Settings Tab:
- Document Source: Platen
- Document Size: A4
- Image Format: Color
- Resolution: 200 dpi (adjustable dropdown)
- Rotation: 0°
- Descreen: Original Content Descreen
- Advanced Settings Tab
There are also buttons for "Help" ?, "Settings" ⚙️, "Preview", and "Save".
After completing the settings, the new resolution will be applied for all scans, whether initiated from the control panel or the computer.
