Safety Considerations
Warning: Failure to follow instructions may result in serious injury or death.

- Do not use in places with flammable/explosive/corrosive gas, humidity, direct sunlight, radiant heat, vibration, impact, or salinity.
- Install on a device panel.
- Do not connect, repair, or inspect while connected to a power source.
- Check 'Connections' before wiring.
- Do not disassemble or modify the unit.
Caution: Failure to follow instructions may result in injury or product damage.
- Use AWG 20 (0.50 mm²) cable or over for connections and tighten terminal screws with a torque of 0.74 to 0.90 N m.
- Use the unit within rated specifications.
- Use a dry cloth for cleaning; do not use water or organic solvent.
- Keep the product away from metal chips, dust, and wire residue.
Cautions during Use
- Download manuals from the Autonics website for proper use.
- Use a power supply device that is insulated and limited voltage/current or Class 2, SELV.
- Operate the product 0.1 sec after supplying power.
- Use a switch or breaker to avoid chattering when supplying or turning off power.
- Install a power switch or circuit breaker in an easily accessible place.
- When the counter is operating, set count speed to low speed mode (1 cps or 30 cps) for contact input to avoid counting errors due to chattering.
- Use twisted pair wire for communication lines.
- Keep away from high voltage lines or power lines to prevent inductive noise.
- If installing power lines and input signal lines closely, use a line filter or varistor at the power line and shielded wire at the input signal line.
- Do not use near equipment generating strong magnetic force or high-frequency noise.
- This unit may be used indoors (within rated environment conditions), at an altitude max. of 2,000 m, pollution degree 2, and installation category II.

Connections
Counter operation: If INHIBIT signal is applied, count input will be prohibited. Timer operation: If INHIBIT signal is applied, time progressing will stop (HOLD).

Error Display and Output Operation
- When an error occurs, the output turns OFF.
- When the 1-stage preset value is 0, OUT1 output turns OFF.
- If the 2-stage preset value is less than the 1-stage preset value, OUT1 output is ignored, and only OUT2 operates.
- Indicator models do not have an error display function.

Reset
In RUN mode, pressing the [RST] key or applying a signal to the RESET terminal on the back side will reset the present value. The output maintains the OFF state.

Preset Value Change Mode
Even in preset value change mode, input operation and output control will continue. The preset value can be set to 0, and the output for a 0 preset value will occur. However, the preset value cannot be set to 0 depending on the output operation mode (the value flashes 3 times when setting to 0). If no key is touched for 60 seconds, the product returns to RUN mode without saving.
Example: To set 1-stage preset value = 180, 2-stage preset value = 200
- Press [◀] key to enter preset value change mode. The PS1 indicator turns ON, and the first digit of the preset value flashes.
- Use [◀], [▲], [▼] keys to set the 1-stage preset value to 180.
- Press [MD] key to enter 2-stage preset value change mode.
- Use [◀], [▲], [▼] keys to set the 2-stage preset value to 200.
- Press [MD] key to return to RUN mode.
Select Input Logic
For CTS and CTY models, detach the case to proceed with settings. The position of the internal switch varies by model.
How to change settings: Power OFF → Change settings → Power ON → Press [RESET] key or input RESET signal (≥ 20 ms) to the external terminal.

Detach the Case
CTS, CTY: Press in direction ① and pull toward direction ② for detaching the case and contents. Caution: Turn OFF the power before detaching the case.

01) Use [▲], [▼] keys to check parameter settings. In 2-stage preset models, 1-stage and 2-stage preset values are displayed by pressing [MD] key. For timers, this is available for output operation modes: OND, OND.1, OND.2.
02) For CT6M-1P / 2P models only. Press [◀] key to set BATCH counter setting value.
Parameter Setting
Some parameters are activated/deactivated depending on the model or other parameter settings. Refer to the description of each parameter.
[MD] key: Saves current setting and moves to the next parameter.
[◀] key: Checks fixed value / Changes setting digits.
[▲], [▼] key: Changes setting values.
